Vince's plans for Brock Lesnar

Another reason Vince McMahon pushed for the hasty turn of Brock Lesnar was that he believes fans will rally behind Lesnar against Paul Heyman much like the Steve Austin vs. Vince McMahon feud that fueled WWE’s resurgence.

WWE plans on using the Heyman/Lesnar feud as the centerpiece of Smackdown, with Heyman aligning himself with possible opponents for Lesnar in attempts to destroy Lesnar.

Unbelievable. Is is too much to ask for the WWE braintrust to come up with ONE original idea???

Paul Heyman is the next coming of Bobby Heenan, I tell you. Although I don't think you can blame them for running out of gas creatively on this.

Manager heel turns and Managee revenges have existed since Hulk Hogan came back to face Freddie Blassie and the Iron Shiek.

Unfortunately, no. See, they were trying to do the whole wrestler vs. owner thing with Austin vs. Flair earlier this year. That was pretty much the same idea with Austin vs. Vince. If they go this route, it would be pretty much the same, except wrestler vs. manager. I can see it now....Lesnar vs. Heyman for the WWE Title at Wrestlemania 19.

But unlike Austin v. Flair- Austin v. Vince wasn't a complete and utter squash

Also, Heyman isn't an owner-type that constantly screws Brock with his power. Heyman has to use his brain to beat Lesnar, so it might be interesting. Now, if Heyman hooks up with Steph, then I will complain.

This kind of reminds me of the Power Rangers.

Brock is the rangers and Heyman is Zed/Reta(?). Brock has to face a villian of the week created/backed by Paul.

You get my point.

....I'm trying to picture Brock in the original Red Ranger outfit, and it's scary.

Especially since last time, I pictured Brock being the MegaMan of pro wrestling...

The idea of Heyman throwing whoever he can find at Brock in a bid to fuck him up sounds like a fine angle to me - teaming him (Heyman) with Steph and regurgitating the face vs heel owner angle is a recipe for disaster.

Sure Heyman vs. Brock isn't exactly like Austin vs. Vince, but it's way to similar.

Besides we all know Heyman and Stephanie will eventually reveal some sort of "working agreement" between them. I mean come on Stephanie is already dropping "i'm a heel" hints.

Actually, to me, it's more like the old Bossman/Heenan feud.

Heenan threw every "Heenan Family" member at Bossman to keep Bossman away from Mr. Perfect.

Yes, that idea seems very old. However, there is only so much one can do with the manager idea.

Who really cares, Heyman is the man and I would of liked the angle.

Well hopefully we get the Heyman Family at some point during this then. Beniot or Angle(whichever goes heel), Los Guerreros and Big Show. I hate Big Show, but you know they won't just throw him away again.

Don't forget Matt Hardy.

They should have had Paul Heyman exploiting his client ever since he won the title. He was his agent, so he(Brock) would have to do whatever Heyman said, right?

Also, Heyman should NEVER have fired Brock as a client. Lesnar would be booked in all kinds of stuff, because Paul was still in control of him.

Whatever. I don't much care anymore anyway.

Yeah Mattitude would be a good replacement for Big Show. Then Big Show can fade away to the mid card never to cause us trouble again.

Well they could always do the "i still have the contract you signed" sweeeerve concerning Heyman still being in charge of Brock. I wouldn't be surprised to see it at some point after Brock wins the belt back.

Beniot, Los Guerreros and Matt Hardy as the Heyman family. I could go for that.

I've got no problem at all with a Heyman/Lesnar feud where Paul essentially sends bounty hunters after Brock in an attempt to take him out. This is timeless booking folks, it has been done in almost every fed and it always works well. Brock will be more over because he will fend off Heyman's various thugs, and being associated with Heyman will get a lot of guys over. And...can you imagine how over one of the guys would get if they took out Lesnar?

Agreed. Even while managing freakin' Big Show, it's more interesting this way.

And if Heyman creates a resurgence of male managers, I'll be happy. Rather than the prevailing trend of a male wrestler "managed" by a pretty, empty-headed blond "valet" (and even though Stacy is more of a manager, she's still pretty and empty headed, and it still won't get Test over).

Oh, and my bad--he's not a "manager," he's an "agent." :P

Heh! I actually like that idea...it's a little bit too close the owner scenario, but it's still a good idea.

Dropping hints is too logical for WWE booking. That's Steph forgetting she's supposed to be playing a face and being herself--a total bitch.

I like the idea of Heyman feuding with Lesnar, and Heyman always trying to find opponents to kill Lesnar. I would like to see him get behind Chris Benoit as a manager and become Benoit's mouthpiece. I think those two will work together nice.

Heyman can don a goofy looking outfit (JR's hinted that Heyman's got an alternate lifestyle :P) and hurl a staff down to the ring making the challenger of the week grow into an GIANT UBER-HOSS BAH GAHD!

...and JR begs to be moved to Smackdown.

Something I wanna note...

Were the rosters not split right now, I could easilly see Heyman getting Batista under his wing to take out Lesnar.

Eh--another forced push of a jacked up hoss? Ugh--I see the logic, but I'd only do it if Batista was a bit more established/over/credible right now.

We're supposed to view Brock as a main eventer, but now putting him up against a heavily pushed Batista lowers Brock's credibility, and books them into a corner since you'd have to kill the Batista "unstoppable monster" aura they are trying to built up for him.

Remember they did something similar when they booked a KOTR semifinal with Luger vs. Tatanka? So what did the brilliant WWF bookers do? Time limit draw--pffft.

I think it could work. Heyman's charisma can keep it entertaining. The guy is great on the mic. He keeps getting behind people to try and screw brock over, and if they keep it kind of evenhanded in the win/loss ratio it could work really well.

I didn't say it was a good idea, I just said that I could see WWE doing it.

Oh, right--I understand now. I COULD see them doing that.

And Rhyno? I think any week now, but he's on Raw last I heard--not that that will mean anything, since they could say since he was injured before contracts were frozen he's a free agent, blah blah blah. Whatever they want to get him on SD.

I don't hate Rhyno, but to me he's pretty much to Heyman what Albert is to JR. A pet project that few other to him really see the potential he does.

Sad as it is to say, Heyman is the best heel on WWE TV right now.

And I'm so sick of WWE trying to find some "amazing new direction" with necrophila or whatnot.. this angle sounds old-school - and old-school always works.

"The above statement is not to be confused with the Undertaker's name for his wristlock/rope walk/clubbing forearm move--thank you."

And yes...don't try to add wives and corpsefucking or soap opera shit to the storylines. KEEP...IT...SIMPLE and do that right.
