Guest converge241 Posted March 5, 2002 Report Posted March 5, 2002 Inspiration courtesy One Bad Apple: "I don't agree with everything you said, but I'm glad you said it. And leapin' lizards, how many times do topics have to be started about how: 1. Much Stephanie sucks. 2. The writers are botching the nWo angle after a "hot debut." 3. Hogan doesn't know any moves. 4. WrestleMania is going to suck. 5. The belt needs to be taken off Regal. 6. Regal sucks bad and needs to get off my television. 7. Rikishi sucks bad and needs to get off my television. 8. Christian is being wasted. 9. Triple H sucks now and needs to lose some muscle mass or he'll keep sucking. Answer: I don't know. True True For the most part, there seems to be a ton of picking out or picking on all the things wrong. So whats one element of the WWF that you really like right now? I'll vote for "overall workrate". It seems like its going up a notch at ppvs, house shows, and TV.
Guest Will Scarlet Posted March 5, 2002 Report Posted March 5, 2002 I enjoy Tajiri, and, the more I think about it, the more I enjoy the concept of the Japanese shampoo commercial angle. I even find it funny in a "utterly stupid"(I mean that in a good way), sort of way.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted March 5, 2002 Report Posted March 5, 2002 I like: --Hurricane --Lance Storm getting more TV time --Kurt Angle --Jericho --Booker T --Chuck & Billy --the fact that Benoit, Kanyon, Rhyno, & Mike Awesome will be back in action soon
Guest converge241 Posted March 5, 2002 Report Posted March 5, 2002 Booker T is great in all those backstage vignettes, no matter if the idea he has to work with is stupid or not. He was hilarious in the nconfessional stuf, those commercials, the auditions, the stuff with Test, the shampoo. That's another good thing - The constant improvement of Booker, and he was already good to begin with.
Guest Will Scarlet Posted March 5, 2002 Report Posted March 5, 2002 I totally agree, Converge. Booker T has been highly entertaining in those segments, and some of those segments were mark out moments for me. Like the grocery store attack, which reminded me of how in my markhood I would always think, "Man! It would be cool if one day a wrestler sneak attacked another wrestler in the supermarket." And Booker T learning Japanese reminded me of those times when I tried to pick up another language, and failed miserably. So, in a way, the Booker T segments are the kind of stuff I have always to see happen in wrestling, which is perfectly fine by me. I just hope that they do not fulfill my dream of another angle I always wanted to see in wrestling: a Robin Hood angle. Just the thought of Booker T dressed like Robin Hood, riding a horse, speaking in old English, and rallying the midcarders and jobber to the stars against the horrible main eventers who are trying to hold them down, gives me chills.
Guest The Electrifyer Posted March 6, 2002 Report Posted March 6, 2002 My favourites would have to be Christian, Jericho and Rob Van Dam. These three guys impress me a great deal. Christians has great mic work and in ring talent, I feel he carried Edge through all those ladder matches. Jericho has always been a stand-out in my books. He's great at making jokes and being funny and he's incredible in the ring too. RVD is simply wicked. His moves are sweet and just impresses the hell out of me in every match.
Guest Army Eye Posted March 6, 2002 Report Posted March 6, 2002 - Booker T is always funny, no mattter what they give him. - Seeing Kurt Angle wrestle is always a treat. He is such a good worker. - Lance Storm always making the most of what little time on TV he gets. - NWO, when booked correctly, is still a fun angle. They're only doing so-so on this though.
Guest converge241 Posted March 6, 2002 Report Posted March 6, 2002 Kurt never seems to have a bad moment. Even through concussions. Its something small and kind of dumb, but i'll add Christian's "finding his smile" ((tm Shawn Michaels)) courtesy of DDP. Every time he cracks that odd smile I crack up. I need that on a monday.
Guest Tony149 Posted March 6, 2002 Report Posted March 6, 2002 I like RVD, Booker T & Kurt Angle. I also liked the nWo beat down on The Rock, but the nWo has long steam from their "hot debut."
Guest gangsteruwa Posted March 6, 2002 Report Posted March 6, 2002 I dig Booker T. I am enjoying the current women's matches (ie Jazz vs. Trish on RAW). I like the Hurricane skits. I like all the TALENTED junior and middle weights (Storm, RVD, Helms, etc.) I like the Angle, Jericho, Stephanie, HHH angle. I like it when Stephanie doesn't talk. There are alot of things that I like. But the things I don't like are more obvious because there has been alot of that happening, and it sometimes takes away from what I do like.(ie steph talking).
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted March 6, 2002 Report Posted March 6, 2002 I like Jericho having the World Title.
Guest Mystery Eskimo Posted March 6, 2002 Report Posted March 6, 2002 I like Booker, but not the way he is being used. Ditto Helms. Storm is doin great. Ditto RVD.
Guest razazteca Posted March 6, 2002 Report Posted March 6, 2002 I enjoy Lance Storm Kurt Angle Jazz as womens champ Goldust as Hardcore champ Undertaker vs Flair family.....reminds me of Paige as the stalker, wonder if it will same ending? Raw is War from Texas and NWO performance on the show from Austin and CMLL & AAA at 6pm tonight
Guest Patriotsfan2000 Posted March 6, 2002 Report Posted March 6, 2002 Well, one think I like right now is how WWF House Shows have stepped it up. My first WWF house show was back in 1991 and they were pretty bland. Well, I recently went to the one in Tampa and they have cool lighting effects, pre and post match promos and pretty solid workrate. Triple H and Kurt Angle put on a 15 minute PPV quality match, and even Hulk Hogan didn't hold back, taking a stinkface from Rikishi. I also like Hogan vs the Rock at Wrestlemania, even though nothing else about Wrestlemania is getting me too excited.
Guest x-LJSexay-x Posted March 6, 2002 Report Posted March 6, 2002 I like... The Women's matches. Lance Storm creating his niche in the federation Booker T vignettes Edge and Christians growth Kurt Angle matches The Rock. more... you know, when you think about it, alot of small things are fine in the WWF...I guess it's just the shitty writing and lack of time for half the damn roster that sucks...eh?
Guest Big McLargeHuge Posted March 6, 2002 Report Posted March 6, 2002 "- Booker T is always funny, no mattter what they give him. - Seeing Kurt Angle wrestle is always a treat. " - Army Eye That just about says it. I pretty much enjoy the Rock, Austin and Jericho whenever they're on camera, as well. I also enjoyed RAW last night and the fact that the nWo are finally getting to be the bully bad asses they can be.
Guest jimmy no nose Posted March 6, 2002 Report Posted March 6, 2002 Booker T Kurt Angle Christian Jericho Edge Triple H(sometimes) Scott Hall HULK HOGAN Sorry for those last two, but I really do like them.
Guest phoenixrising Posted March 6, 2002 Report Posted March 6, 2002 What I like about the WWF right now... -Getting to see my favorite wrestler, Edge, and another favorite, Booker T work an angle together leading to a match at Wrestlemania. Especially Booker's hilarious attempts to get the shampoo commercial ("You may know Kung-Fu, but I know Shampoo!). -I wasn't watching wrestling doing the nWo era, so it's cool to see them in the WWF, especially Hulk Hogan, even if he's gone Hollywood. -"THE LIVING LEGEND, LARGER THAN LIFE, UNDISPUTED CHAMPION" Chris Jericho. -Kurt Angle's continued brilliance on the mic and in the ring...I went to the Smackdown where he did the "baby Game" skit...one of the funniest things I have ever heard - "I AM THE BABY GAME!!!!" -Stacy. Need I say more? -Christian/DDP skits. Yeah, they're going nowhere, but at least they're funny. And that's not a bad thing...it's a good thing. -Austin. WHAT? I said Austin is a good thing about the WWF. -Jerry Lawler showing a little more of his heel side and talking less about the puppies. He's doing a solid job lately. -Undertaker slowly going back to the dark side. -Mr. Perfect and Goldust back in the WWF. OK, Perfect is far from Perfect right now, and Goldust isn't all that and a bag of chips, but like the nWo, it's good to see these guys back even if just for a few months or so.
Guest goodhelmet Posted March 6, 2002 Report Posted March 6, 2002 In the WWF, I like ........ummm..........uhhh.......................................oh I like RVD vs. lance Storm. I like the fact that they are THINKING about using the cruisers after the split. I like Kurt Angle and Stone Cold I like the fact that Benoit is closer to an in-ring return than he was yesterday.
Guest goodhelmet Posted March 6, 2002 Report Posted March 6, 2002 I like Trish also as long as she tries hard to pop out. just try and eventually she will succeed.
Guest Human Fly Posted March 6, 2002 Report Posted March 6, 2002 I like Jericho as Undisputed Champ, Angle, Booker, Christian, Edge, Mr. Perfect, HHH, Flair, and am excited about the roster split.
Guest imajackoff? Posted March 6, 2002 Report Posted March 6, 2002 Everytime I see Jericho come out with those two straps over his shoulders I think it's way cool. I like Tajiri's natural charisma. I like that Kurt Angle is great, and he's only going to get better. I like that Spike Dudley is getting his chance in the big time.
Guest The Vanilla Midget Posted March 6, 2002 Report Posted March 6, 2002 I like jericho as champ I like RVD I like how storm and rvd had an awesome match on raw I *really* like stacy keibler I like how great everything booker t does seems to be I liked how raw on monday was a wrestling show.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted March 6, 2002 Report Posted March 6, 2002 I like how Rob Van Dam is finally inline for a major wwf tittle I like how he's already set up to feud with edge I liked how there was no 20 minute recaps on raw. I liked how vince was only on raw for 15 seconds (less is more) I like how Mr. Perfect won a match. I like the DDP, christian Skits I liked the women's match on raw (first time that happened in ages)
Guest godthedog Posted March 6, 2002 Report Posted March 6, 2002 probably, i like flair the most right now. he easily cuts the most intense promos in the business. the time he begged mcmahon not to bring in the nwo, & the time he "said goodbye" to the fans in virginia: perfectly showed that wrestling, too, can be emotionally complex, with pathos, & they made me proud to be a wrestling fan.
Guest Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Posted March 6, 2002 Report Posted March 6, 2002 I like always having something or someone to complain about on the shows. I also like the big time potential RVD showed as far as having a complex wrestling match. I like that he showed it with Lance. I like to hope for a great Wrestlemania I like Jericho as champ although he is still being made to look kind of foolish at Steph's side I like RVD having the world title push held off of him. When it finally happens, it will be oh so sweet. And finally: I like me..........oh and DDP to.
Guest BaronVonStevie Posted March 7, 2002 Report Posted March 7, 2002 Jericho as champ is wicked. It's not being handled as well as it could but seeing him as world champion is great. Other than that I think Vince is screwing up almost everywhere.
Guest RedJed Posted March 7, 2002 Report Posted March 7, 2002 -The fact that Vince isn't on TV, so that he's not putting himself over any wrestler at this point. -Happy that Jericho is still the champ, I didn't think he's still have the belts right now -The Maven experiment. -Jazz as credible of a women's champion as there has ever been.
