Who's More Irrational?

Recommended Posts

Guest The Mighty Damaramu

You know reading over all the posts and news updates I have since I got into Puro I noticed everyone talks about how irrational Inoki can be.

And being a longtime WWE fan I know how irrational Vince is.

So my question is....who's more irrational? Vince or Inoki? Who does more stupid things that make you think "He can't possibley think this is a good idea!"

I mean both men have Chyna.....so that kinda doesn't count.

Both men are probrably on the same playing field in regards to stupid decisions.

Inoki made Nagata fight Cro Cop right after winning G-1 in a shoot fight while Nagata was hot and killed Nagata's drawing power dead before the New Year last year. Then Inoki felt it would be a good idea to put the IWGP title on, of all people, Tadao Yasuda.

McMahon committed the same mistake WCW did, and then one upped them by having Brock Lesnar job to Big Show at Survivor Series this year. The one thing Brock had going for him was his unbeaten streak and that went kaput to the laziest man in pro wrestling this side of Keiji Muto, The Big Show. At least WCW built Kevin Nash up somewhat before he went out and beat Goldberg.

I could go on and on, but it's too depressing. To sum it all up, McMahon and Inoki are fucking up pro wrestling something fierce.

I disagree that Big Show beating Brock was a bad idea. Getting screwed by Heyman made Brock a total face, he's getting a bigger pop now then he did as a heel. I don't like Pig Slow but he is just a transitional champ who will eventually job to Brock cleanly further establishing that Brock can beat him man-to-man. The loss won't hurt Brock in the long run, the WWE has actually done a great job with him since he arrived IMO.

Vince has done alot of things wrong, the failure to create a new set of stars led to rehashed fueds and boring storylines being the biggest. The reliance on established stars no matter how stale they have become hurt the overall product because the old stars like Taker and HHH were getting too much the TV time and the up-and-comers weren't taken seriously. No one besides HHH and Taker were built up to seem credible for the longest time.

Inoki got wrapped up in wanting to legitimize prowres by mixing wrestlers with fighters, the end result was the fighters couldn't wrestle and the wrestlers had little success fighting. I still can't get why Chyna would be brought in and used the way she is, it degrades wrestlers who have earned a spot in a major promotion.

Didn't Liger just lose a shootfight in under 2 minutes? I don't know if it was Inoki's doing but it was a stupid decision anyhow.

If Inoki had anything to do with that shootfight in anyway then he gets my vote. That was one terrible idea.

The idea of Brock losing with Heyman screwing him is fine. It was semi-well written leading up to it, I guess. But putting the title on a guy who spent months jobbing to Jeff Hardy and the like is just dumb. The end result worked though, as Brock is a face now...but the side effect is no one gives a crap about the title again.

I have to vote Inoki, during WWF's good periods, when they did almost everything they could right, it was due to angles, and stuff, which Vince has direct control of.

New Japan's good pariod was due to guys like Ohtani putting on ****-***** matches on a regular basis, Ohtani's a great wrestler, it didn't mattter that he wrestled in New Japan, he could do the same stuff in WAR and it'd be good.

It seems like whenever Inoki makes a new star it kills the whole federation as a result, Naoya Ogawa killed their top draw of the 1990's to the point that he left, Tadao Yasuda, nuff said. Don Frye is a great shooter, but he's the most worthless wrestler since Glacier. New Japan is going good again, why? Because Masahiro Chono is running the ship while Inoki does his shootfighting shows.

Every wrestler McMahon rushed to the top with a couple of exeptions has wound up drawing good money and getting over like crazy.
