ChrisMWaters Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 Last night's Smackdown telecast scored a 3.6 rating. Although that is pretty much what Smackdown has been averaging as of late, it's actually a tremendous score. Being that last night was Thanksgiving, ratings were not expected to be good. In fact, many did not expect Smackdown to surpass a 3.0 rating. Scoring an average rating on a holiday is very good for WWE. This basically shows that Smackdown currently has a very strong fanbase, not in numbers but in dedication and loyalty. Although that could change if Smackdown starts to deteriorate, it certainly is comforting to know that the show currently has enough loyal viewers to get a 3.6 on Thanksgiving. Source-ProWrestling.com ------------------------------------- Interesting...they get that high a score on a major holiday...
Guest Anglesault Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 ::Does a quick review of who had major parts, and more importantly, who didn't.:: Oh, please, oh god no. Brock/Show= Ratings, and The Smackdown Six were barely on the fucking show. SHIT!
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 Ass Grabbing/Slapping = Ratings Err..actually the grabbing = Ratings, the Ass slapping (by Angle on Benoit) is just uh..silly..
Guest Anglesault Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 Ass Grabbing/Slapping = Ratings ::Sigh:: I just hope SO much that Vince doesn't realize that SD!6 had no airtime on that show.
Guest TheArchiteck Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 Maybe Scott Stiener's appearance being hyped up? Considering not everyone has cable or satellite. That was a reason I watched...but damn...he needs to actually TALK and not say the same lines in the same way.
Guest godthedog Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 Maybe Scott Stiener's appearance being hyped up? Considering not everyone has cable or satellite. That was a reason I watched...but damn...he needs to actually TALK and not say the same lines in the same way. there's a reason he just says the same lines in the same way. the reason being when he DOESN'T say those things he sounds even stupider.
Guest LaParkaMarka Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 Duh, it's pretty obvious that Ernest "The Cat" Miller = ratings.
Guest D'Lo White Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 I think that's just the overnight rating. If its the final rating it is because...... Stephanie on the rag = ratings.
Guest BoboBrazil Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 That is the overnight rating. That isn't the final rating.
Guest Will Scarlet Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 No way. It is obvious. Steph's PMS = ratings. EDIT: I just wasted my 1900th post talking about Steph's PMS? *sigh*
Guest Army Eye Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 Who the hell is ProWrestling.com? These guys are idiots obviously. That's the OVERNIGHT rating, which is a good deal higher than what the final rating will be. The 3.6 was the second lowest overnight rating of the year for Smackdown. Only July 4 was worse.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 Confirmed from Meltzer. 3.6 is the overnight rating, not the final.
Guest SP-1 Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 Actually, Benoit/Angle/Eddy/Chavo had quite a bit of screen time. Their match lasted two segments. More than Brock/Show, I'd venture a guess. Edge and Rey got a segment for their match, I believe, so they kinda got shafted, but I care more for Angleoit/LG.
Guest Mole Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 I think the ratings did well because someone said it before, Smackdown has a strong fanbase audience. Hell, I'd much rather watch Smackdown then Raw any day of the week. I am sure everyone on this board agrees with me.
Guest Army Eye Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 err.. might want to read the whole thread
Guest dreamer420 Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 So it's something to complain about when the ratings are good and bad? I don't get it.
Guest Mole Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 err.. might want to read the whole thread Who me?? If so, I did read the whole thread.
Guest Army Eye Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 Ok.. then why'd you say the rating did well, when it didn't?
Guest Mole Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 Ok.. then why'd you say the rating did well, when it didn't? Well, being Thanksgiving, and seeing how the show sucked, a 3.6 isn't that bad. Finishing 4th for the night beating ABC and WB is still pretty good. Yes, I read the whole thread. I must of missed your screaming of Prowrestling.com.
Guest RenegadeX28 Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 That must be a sigh of relief for the WWE. Imagine if RAW aired on Turkey Day?!?!? RAW: 0.3 LOL!
Guest godthedog Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 the big test will come the week of christmas, when both shows will be on a pretty even footing. smackdown will of course blow raw out of the water.
Guest HartFan86 Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 3.6 = 2.0 Final Rating. Don't give your hopes up guys.
Guest RenegadeX28 Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 3.6 = 2.0 Final Rating. Don't give your hopes up guys. I think the 3.6 is the final rating, if I am not mistaken.
Guest Ram Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 3.6 = 2.0 Final Rating. Don't give your hopes up guys. I think the 3.6 is the final rating, if I am not mistaken. Still not.
Guest RenegadeX28 Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 Oops, didn't read the news correctly.......
Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 Has Meltzer even put the rating up? I thought he said it wouldn't be available till Monday.
Guest teke184 Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 Yes, Damaramu, he says that Monday will probably be the earliest he gets it due to the 4-day holiday weekend.
