Guest godthedog Report post Posted December 1, 2002 just a friendly reminder to everybody that wednesday, tcm is devoting a night of programming to your god and mine, orson welles. they've got a pretty nice choice of his movies too. so for anybody who only knows orson welles for 'citizen kane', check it out & revel in the glory. for everyone who already knows he was a genius, relive the magic. the schedule is: 8 pm: touch of evil 10 pm: the stranger 12 am: citizen kane 2:15 am: the magnificent ambersons 4 am: the trial except for the stranger, every one of these movies is well worth checking out. 4 are at least very good, and 3 of them are great. the production values of the trial are really bad though, and for the first half-hour or so it's a hard movie to watch (especially at 4 in the morning). but definitely DEFINITELY at least watch touch of evil. Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted December 1, 2002 Woo! Wednesday's gonna be a nice night. I'd have replaced The Stranger with one of his Shakespeare takes--maybe Chimes at Midnight--but that's a pretty good selection.

Guest El Satanico Report post Posted December 5, 2002 I'll be watching it. Will I miss anything if I miss the first Thirty of The Stranger?
Guest godthedog Report post Posted December 5, 2002 I'll be watching it. Will I miss anything if I miss the first Thirty of The Stranger? honestly, you won't miss anything if you miss the whole thing. it's probably the only not-good movie he made. EDIT: i'm watching it now, and...yeah, this movie does suck. why couldn't they have shown 'the lady from shanghai'? that was one of my favorite movies in high school, i used to watch it everytime it came on amc. speaking of amc, boy did that channel ever go down the shitter. they have commercials now, and they show movies from the fucking 90s. i was channel surfing the other day, & they were showing CHAIN REACTION. fucking CHAIN REACTION, on a channel called AMERICAN MOVIE CLASSICS! AAAAAAAAAUGH!
