This is getting ridiculous now in regards to how late the new Black Cat book currently is.

But hey, this is Smith we're talking about. The same man who was asked by DC to write a full year's worth of stories before they would ever allow him to write the book which they got trigger happy over and only got 6 full stories written up.

Smith is a true innovator.

Compare this to say, Judd Winnick who writes more than one book AND had written up a FULL YEAR's worth of eXiles before signing that 1-year DC exclusive contract. You don't have to like him, but you can see that this is something he WANTS to do full time, and not just as a hobby while taking a break from directing Jersey Girl...

Oh, did I mention that I was dropping Spidey/Black Cat? I guess I would have, if it would SHOW UP on the release list...

I admire DC and Marvel in that sense by making the lazy ass's who write plan out a half a year, a year's worth of stories which benefits everyone.

I'll probably still pick up the Spidey/Black Cat book when it comes out but I'm not going to go out of my way to buy it when it does (finally) come out.

The interaction between Spidey/Black Cat is almost exactly like the connection that Green Arrow/Black Canary had when Smiht was writing the book with the same type of dialogue and actions almost. Both Felicia and Dinah act like ditz and or bitches around their men with almost the same reasoning as to why and I blink just to see if I'm reading another book instead of the one in front of me.

I just haven't dug Smith's take on Felicia who has never really been written well to begin with and I just feel that Smith could do a better job with her.

Ugh, I hated the way he wrote Dinah. I don't remember her ever acting that annoying or ditzy before. I actually prefer his take on Felicia. At least it's more or less consistent with the way she's always been portrayed (kind of flirty and annoying while around Spidey, but in a lovable way). Plus, I enjoy Spidey & Black Cat's witty banter, whereas it just kind of irritated me in Green Arrow. Smith's run on GA started off good, but by the time it ended, it was just pretty blah.

2) Isn't Bullseye's power to kill anyone with anything at anytime? Not a big fan, but couldn't his abilities augment the physics of the stunt?

Which is why I wanted clarification. Making a toothpick a lethal weapon - believable, given Bullseye's known abilities. Breaking glass with said toothpick, well, that's another story.

The toothpick kill would fall under the category of "why doesn't he just fire a rubber band at Lilandra then?" which is just too outrageous even for Bullseye.

Why would he want to kill Lilandra?

The funny thing is that many of the fans who are diehard "realism" nuts are praising the Bullseye kill which is just hilarious considering how you could NOT do that in real life no matter what someone says.

I know you can crack a glass window by throwing a sewing needle in real life. I'm sure Kevin knows that can't happen, but this is a comic. Even though, I think that his toothpick thing oversteps those bounds. Even in a comic, lil'-sharp-object-throwing physics shouldn't go to far beyond the needle cracking glass. Where was he when he threw it, anyhow?

Oh and getting possibly rid of Bullseye's old suit is a major red flag considering that his outfit was one of the most unique in Marvel and now he looks like a run of the mill assassin which Bullseye is not.

Red flag for what? I like that they got him out of that outfit, but the new one (assuming it's the movie one) makes me think they should've just done tweaking on it instead. The tights with the bulls-eyes made him look like a dipshit, in my opinion.

I agree. That's the one problem I see with the movie, since his constume could translate to film really easy.

I think people would laugh at him. Daredevil's costume seemed like it'd be okay, but Affleck looks dumb. But maybe that's Affleck's fault more than the costume's.

Bundy is the only fat guy with the look of Kingpin and since he doesn't say a lot but rather gets to the point in situations (i.e. not a lot of dialogue) I feel that Bundy can pull off the job if he was coached properly.

Really, would you rather see KING KONG BUNDY as the Kingpin rather than a proven actor just because he looks more like him? They should've searched for an unknown first, in my opinion. Then if that didn't pan out--Duncan.

Oh and Bundy is an awful choice. His voice isn't distinguised enough for Fisk, he looks like a moron rather than a mater criminal, and everything about him screams "bush-league"

That was funny...he does look stupid. That head.

It just occurred to me, but I vaguely remember a King Kong "J.R." Bundy gimmick. I think it was a territorial gimmick and it was based on the Ewings (from "Dallas"). Don't know if that was the "real" Bundy or not, but how many fat, bald white guys with huge heads (I mean, look at it - it's a virtual planetoid, has it's own weather system) can there be in wrestling?

Anyways, my point is that it is conceivable that Bundy could be Kingpin. Hey, Affleck is Daredevil... anything can happen.

Where'd you hear that, Ninjas Monthly?

Dinah was always a character who wasn't flighty around guys but got to her point in that if she liked you she wouldn't beat around the bush letting you know it.

Felicia and Smith do have a chemistry but her character is still lacking in having a connection that fans can make with her along with a story with her in it that stands out. I'm not putting a lot of stock in Smith being the person able to pull that off with the current direction the mini is going but I'll wait until the series is over to make a complete opinion on it (whenever the Hell that might happen).

He's right. I saw someone shatter glass with nothing but a sewing needle on Ripley's Believe it or Not.

Okay, I do like this kind off-the-cuff remark.

We need more of them.

Jingus brings tha funny.

But back on the topic:

Marvel can not have it both ways.

Either they live in a world where two buildings getting bombed by terrorists means more than an entire city getting hacked to pieces by a gang of killers or just stop blurring the lines.

Marvel wants to be as realistic as possible yet there franchise super hero is running around in tights while half their universe has gone to all leather because the tights don't sell.

Making the Bush the President of the US doesn't mean anything either but rather dates the comics. Then when fans 40 years from now read these books they'll think about how silly it was to use Clinton and Bush in certain books. It's like going back and reading a Captain America comic with Nixon in it or seeing Superman shed tears over JFK's assassination.

You can't have both things and expect them to not clash and contradict one another.
