So yeah he's an offensive genius. Sorry if I missed how he earned that title. I mean take this season as a perfect example.

1. He burns timeouts in situations where they aren't needed.

2. He challenges trivial plays that in the grand scheme of the game won't matter.

3. He takes a passing game built around the fact that Faulk is such a dangerous rusher and then completely eliminates Faulk from the equation and hopes to be successful.

The Eagles game was a perfect example of his lack of intelligence. I watched most of the 2nd half and I think the Rams ran it possibly five times. Every other down they were trying to pass it downfield to no success. Then they could've had a chance at the end of the game but guess what Martz had used all the timeouts. Actually he screwed them over by doing that in the 1st half too.

In my opinion Martz showed that he's lacking an understanding of how to use his offense. And if he sticks with Warner another week he's nuts.

I thought the same thing two years ago and I couldn't get anybody to agree with me.

Martz is one of the worst coaches in football (if not for Marty on the Lions and Spurrier, he might be the worst). The so-called offensive genius couldn't even manage a TD against an Eagles team that committed 3 turnovers and was using its third string QB.

It's always been my belief that he pretty much inherited a good team and that he had yet to prove himself should the team go into a downswing. Now they ARE in said downswing, and things aren't getting better, despite having this "genius" at the helm.

His first year was much the same as this one, except the winning streak came at the beginning of the year as opposed to after they had already started 0-5. Everyone said that they would come on strong in the playoffs, but they were crushed for 3 quarters by the Saints, until the Saints got cocky and almost let the Rams get back into it.

Last year they were more lucky than good, especially in their two games with the Eagles.

The only Rams team that I would consider truly great was the one Vermiel had in 1999.

The Rams haven't played a full game of football since Vermeil left after 99.

2000 - a defense that allowed 30+ pts. a game

2001 - a team that averaged 3+ turnovers a game

Martz is downright terrible. He is an arrogant shit who should have been fired after blowing the Super Bowl. His arrogance got in the way of winning, and now his team isn't playing for him. And more to that, Kurt Warner has been shilled to the moon by the team yet he has been playing attrocious for the better half of two years.

Fire Martz, Trade Warner, and build around Faulk.

Martz showed his ignorance by not giving the ball to Marshall in the Superbowl after the Rams' receiving corps (and Warner) were being knocked silly the first two quarters. It's another example of the talent making the coach look good (see Jackson, Phil).

I never thought he was a good coach, but it took the Rams losing the Super Bowl for anyone to agree with me. This season, he's made the wrong decision at almost every turn, despite all the evidence he'd never need staring him in the face.

Brian Billick, while I think he's done a good job with the Ravens, is another guy who constantly tries to justify his reputation as an offensive genius. At least Billick has shown the ability to adapt to the circumstances, though. Martz apparently believes that Warner will magically stop sucking, and he'll have the Greatest Show on Turf again. Heads up, Mike: people figured out how to beat you, Warner blows this year, you don't use the best offensive weapon in the league properly, and it's your fault your team is missing the playoffs. Jackass.

Billick has done a great job this year with Baltimore, no way should they be as good as they are playing.

Martz on the other hand, has the best collection of talent in the NFL and has managed to turn it into losing squad. Great coaching job there Martz.

Something else I just thought about...The Rams basically lost two starting players from each unit. The lack of those players has cost the Rams this year.

Az Hakim was let go cause he tended to fumble returns. However, Hakim gave the offense a downfield burner that forced defenses to pay attention to him and not concentrate on Bruce and Holt as much. Terrance Wilkins, his replacement, hasn't done jack. Ricky Proehl is the third wide now...yes he has good hands but no speed...so defenses can concentrate on taking away the deep routes by Holt and Bruce.

On defense, London Fletcher may have been small but he played bigger than he was and was fast. Jamie Duncan hasn't adequately replaced Fletcher but in Duncan's defense he was hurt for the first part of the season.

Yeh, never mind the fact Martz has been fucked over by injuries this year.

Warner, Bulger, Faulk, Pace, Williams, so on, so on. And for those who thought Warner was no good last year either, I thought that there was only one QB better than him and that was Jeff Garcia.

He's also been fucked over by his own stubbornness.

The team is undefeated with Marc Bulger at QB. After starting 0-5, they finally made it back to .500 and could now look at 5-1 the rest of the way and a probable playoff berth. But no, Martz went right back to Warner, who showed ZERO ability to lead their offense this year. If other teams are adjusting to the absence of people like Hakim, one would think an "offensive genius" like Martz could tweak his offense to compensate for that.

And for those who thought Warner was no good last year either...

It's not that he was "no good," but he was definitely playing a notch below the previous two seasons.

I was always a strong advocate that Martz was the wrong guy right after Vermil left.

I am sure he'll get the team to finish a embarassing 8-8 (for a Defending NFC Champion and team consisting of the last 3 MvPs). and Marvin lewis will get fucked whom should gotten a team last season.

Martz is an arrogant prick, so is Billick but he can back it up with the Ring...Martz can't and don't forget...He lost about 40-55% of that Superbowl team and kept them at .500 along with injuries (Lewis most notable) and somewhat alive for the playoffs (AFC North is the Afc North after all).

So if there is a just god...Kurt Warner takes the season off...Rehabs/Surgery or plain fucking chops off the fucking pinky or learn throw left handed. Bulger (free agent) leaves and signs up to be Jesus Christ to Spurrior's God in a trade for Lewis to overtake the team, have this play drive each time

Warner hands to Faulk.

Warner hands to faulk.

Warner Passes to Faulk.

Warner hands to faulk.

Warner passes to faulk.

Warner hands to faulk.

Touchdown!

The first four games where everyone was healthy except Pace for two weeks what happened? Oh yeah they went 0-4, Warner looked like total shit and they weren't giving Faulk the ball nearly enough.

Martz was screwing up before the injuries started piling, so that's no excuse.

Yeah, but if Warner's hand was 100% at the start of the year and stayed that way, we probably would have never heard the name Marc Bulger. I still don't like some of Martz's decisions though. Oh yeah Gannon was better last year too, and I'm tempted to say Favre as well, but that's still only three.

What does Gannon and Favre have to do with Warner's terrible from every aspect season?

Gannon is still playing well this year. Favre has often faced stretches where he struggled so he's the same as always.
