I know how you feel. We here in Germany have been without any WWE programming for almost two years. This week we finally get WWE shows again. We now get RAW, PPVs (about $15), Velocity, Confidential, Bottom Line and Afterburn, but NO Smackdown! They finally give us WWE shows again, but decide to not include the best one. FUCK!

Well, they cut RAW down to about 50 minutes (without commercials) and this week they cut down EVERYTHING but the matches. Which wasn't all that bad because it was last week's episode with the Christian/Jericho towel incident. Didn't need to see that, so it's OK with me.

There's no DirecTV here in Australia. Only 2 Cable providers (who have exactly the same channels). So the maximum we get is Afterburn, Bottom Line and Raw. Pay Per Views are $20 (10 US) but now they are gone too from pay tv.

Im just an angry as the others Australians in this post, but its not all bad. More money is available for puro and the like for me at least.

 

Yeah theres pretty much only one provider, there were a couple but Rupert Murdoch had a strangle-hold on the market so the other provider was forced to merge with his empire.

You know what else Vince did that was awful. Just before the Global Warning show there was a meet and greet with 5 Wrestlers (Torrie, Kidman, Hurricane, Rey and Rikishi). It was $280 a ticket for 3 hours with them (I packed showbags to get one). I show up and instead of a meet and greet, all you were allowed to do was pass a book in front of them and get it signed. They didn't even look up that were so rushed!!!

The Australian dollar is about half of one American dollar.

 

So therefore, if this were in America, it would be like charging you 140 dollars for an arrogant wrestling personality, who doesnt converse with you, only writes their name (lookout guys, don't go all out on us now) and motions the next fan.

 

Whether its Australia is not is irrelevant, that price is ridiculous and Vince is dumber than he looks if he thinks people will continue to pay all his debts.

 

For Slapnuts: As far as i know there is no DirectTV here, in my town, which is close to Brisbane, capital of Queensland, we only have one cable provider in 'Austar' which carries the PPV channel 'Main Event'.

 

Main Event did desperately try to keep the WWE shows, however Vince's ludicrious demands caused them to withdraw from the deal.

We lost all PPVs from No Mercy to Royal Rumble here last year on DirecTV, the USA's leading satelite provider and probably WWE's #1 PPV broadcaster. McMahon wanted a bigger slice of the pie and said DTV was taking too much.

 

Wondering why PPV buyrates absolutely TANKED at the end of the year, mysteriously low at No Mercy? There you go.
