Problem With Kazaa

Recommended Posts

Guest Sandman9000

Anytime I do a search under software, nothing comes up. Even for something as simple as Doom, I don't get shit.

I go down the hall, a person there can find 18 Doom files. I go back to my room, nothing comes up?

Anything I can do besides switch rooms?

have you tried using the advance search features to set limits on files size, artist, developer, etc?

you could try other P2Ps to get what you need, WinMx has good game chatrooms where you can find almost anything.

Actually, I just messed around with the search filters some and managed to fix it.

Thanks anyway.

Morpheus/Kazaa/Grokster/etc has so many problems so often that if messing around with settings doesn't work, turning it off and trying later seems to be the solution!

Sometimes I might be looking for a song, and despite 3mil users online, nothing comes up, yet 2 minutes later, after re-starting, 50 versions of the same thing comes up!

The crazy world of P2P!

that happens because you changed hubs/servers on Kazaa Lite if you click on search more than once new stuff comes up, on the Diet Kazaa you could of had unlimited hub skipping. But V2 tried to block this.

If that was directed at me... that's not the case as ages ago I had morpheus, then nothing, then grokster. I've never had a version of it called Kazaa at all, be it lite, diet, whatever.

Doesn't matter though, it doesn't really bother me, after all, it is free!

speaking of free p2p are there any alternatives to kazaa besides morpheus. i used to love going to audio galaxy since i could find practically any obscure song imaginable. obviously all of these users did not disappear so where else can i get the free stuff?

there are alternatives out there but it is more suited for Broadband users, such as E-Mule/E-Donkey/Overnet and Direct Connect or Sharaza and the countless clones of Gnetella.

go to the zeropaid site they keep up with the new stuff.

goodhelmet, as mentioned above WinMX is very nice. Shareaza uses the same network Morpheus currently does, but it's a much better program. Get the 1.7 beta.

Sharaza does indeed rule as it also has filters to use to find files off the Gnetulla network

I use Kazaa Lite 1.71, it works fine. They keep asking me to upgrade to 2, but fuck them, I heard that 2 sucks, and fucks your computer up.

Im not having a problem with Kazaa Lite 2.0, although I always get the upgrade thing wanting me to upgrade to the newer official Kazaa. I downloaded it thinking if I download it but don't install it that it would stop asking but it doesnt work that way.

I dont do a whole lot of file sharing, I have about 30 mp3s/videos but most of it I downloaded at my cousin's house 2 months ago off his cable modem.

I also haven't changed the user name from Kazaaliteuser yet, and I have a low rating (30 or so..), mainly because even though I have files to share, its way to slow for most people to download my files and if people do get stuff from me than I can't do anything else on my connection.

Only thing I've used since audiogalaxy went away is imesh. Has been great to me. I don't really get music from there much but it's great for movies and TV shows.
