Guest razazteca Posted December 4, 2002 Report Posted December 4, 2002 HDTV so are you near the big city so you can enjoy the reception? You still need to get Progessive Scan DVD player to witness the greatness of SuperBit.
Guest hardyz1 Posted December 4, 2002 Report Posted December 4, 2002 Where did you get the DVD player?
Guest Flyboy Posted December 4, 2002 Report Posted December 4, 2002 Best Buy has some pretty cheap ones.
Guest El Satanico Posted December 4, 2002 Report Posted December 4, 2002 Look at any of the large Department Stores near you. Any place like a Wal Mart will have cheap DVD players.
Guest crandamaniac Posted December 4, 2002 Report Posted December 4, 2002 Look at any of the large Department Stores near you. Any place like a Wal Mart will have cheap DVD players. Seriously, getting one of these cheap DVD players is not the way to go. Anything under $80 and you're basically getting what you paid for. Case in point. Currently, the Wal-mart I work for has 3 DVD players priced around $45-$60. They seem like a good deal, but I can not count the time I've had somebody return one of them suckers. I even tested a couple of our $48 DVD players, and the doors wouldn't even open. Throw in how many times I've had to take one apart to get a DVD out and you're looking at something that's more hassle then what it's worth. Save you're money up, buy something that's good quality and name-brand and avoid the hassle
Guest Flyboy Posted December 4, 2002 Report Posted December 4, 2002 I've had my $50+ DVD for about 2 months, and it works just fine. But, it you do get what you buy. It plays DVDs though, and that's all I want.
Guest treble charged Posted December 4, 2002 Report Posted December 4, 2002 I got my DVD player for Christmas last year, and I can't imagine it cost anything more than $100 (CDN), and it still works fine. Like Flyboy says, it plays DVDs, and that's all I ask for.
Guest crandamaniac Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 Sometimes those cheap DVD players work good, but more often then not they get returned because something goes wrong. Just be really wary about what you buy, because you never know how well something is going to work
Guest The Electrifyer Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 I think my APEX DVD Player cost about 100 CDN. I don't really care for the DVD part, since I own 0 DVDs, but I bought it purely because it can play burnt VCDs.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 APEX DVD players arent that bad, and they do a decent job of playing VCDs and Mp3s. For 50 bucks, its a decent 2nd DVD player, as I already had one in my computer. Plus, you can hack and mod the APEX ones easier than any other (make them region free)
Guest bravesfan Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 I only use APEX for my burned VCDs, while my PS2 gets the job done for the standard DVDs. As Marvin said, APEX's DVD player is worth the purchase for the region-free hacking and VCD playback. Buy it if you can find it in the $40.00-60.00 range.
Guest The Electrifyer Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 What Marvin said was the exact reason why I bought an APEX. Me and another friend of mine are the only two around here with an APEX and he's got the CD to make it region free. Most other people I know find it too "cheap" and think it's gonna break down.
