Guest cynicalprofit Report post Posted December 4, 2002 Ignore all politics here. Do you think they could make LSD a credible world title defender/holder? Would they?
Guest Mole Report post Posted December 4, 2002 No. If they want to push a wrestler that size, it should be Rey.
Guest JHawk Report post Posted December 4, 2002 He might make a decent champion for about a month if somebody got hurt if they used his old ECW giant killer/underdog gimmick, but any longer than that I don't see most fans buying into. He hasn't won a a singles match in I don't know how long, and if not for taking falls through tables, he probably would be getting zero reaction at this point. Guest DragonflyKid Report post Posted December 4, 2002 No, his only job is to get the hell beat out of him and be a jobber. The giant killer gimmick was fun in ECW but he's not a good wrestler outside of his willingness to take a beating. There is no way he'd look credible in there with the big guys anyway. I also doubt he's have the potential to draw. OMG Spike Dudley is headlining Wrestlemania!!!, I gotta get my tickets fast before they sell out!
Guest notJames Report post Posted December 4, 2002 Wrestling is based on the premise that these characters are larger than life. The champion is the epitome of that premise. There is nothing large about Spike Dudley.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted December 4, 2002 Um...no. Spike has a job cause he bumps like a maniac for everyone...that's it. Although the mark in me was watching Guilty as Charged 2000 and thinking, "holy crap! Spike could win the belt"...ECW was great at selling their midcarders that way. Guest Human Fly Report post Posted December 4, 2002 Didn't Heyman want to put the belt on Mysterio last month and was turned down? I thought they were stretching it when they gave Spike the Euro title. He just gets beat up too much.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted December 4, 2002 Rey might even be strech as a WORLD CHAMPION, sorry. WWE has an image to maintain (granted it's a horrible one) but they won't let a 5'6 mexican masked high flyer be their representave. Same for a Redneck dwarf. Guest TheArchiteck Report post Posted December 4, 2002 Spike as a World Champ? Please no! Hell I wouldn't want to see none of the Dudleys as world champion.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted December 4, 2002 I could see Bubba as a ECW champion during his tenure but NOT a WWE champion or even WCW.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted December 4, 2002 He has a better shot than Booker T or RVD because it would be seen as a fluke win which is of no threat to the Office.

You don't get those until you hit Woonsocket & Burrillville.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted December 4, 2002 He protrays a Backwards Ignored imbred with a black brother and a brother with a obsession for Wood. If His black brother and his wood obsessing brother got the attention in the family...just how fucked were the parents?
Guest razazteca Report post Posted December 4, 2002 Spike as Champ would be a nice change of pace but It would have to be a Dusty finish and CSI would have to come on in a minute, so the pure SHOCK value would sink in so the fans will return to see if Spike will lose the title in his 1st defense......too bad Mikey Whipwreck is not employed with WWE. Little bastard was apparently pretty popular in his heyday.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted December 4, 2002 Of course Spike from his current spot couldn't be world champion, but the question was can he be pushed up into world title contender. I think they could get him over as a upper card guy if they played up the underdog aspect. It wouldn't be that difficult for the fans to get behind Spike when he starts beating all the odds and winning against much bigger guys. Should they do it is a totally different question. I don't think they should, but they could. There's too many good deserving wrestlers on roster now. For them to push someone like Spike into the title it would take alot of time and work and with their roster there's no reason to do it.
Guest creativename Report post Posted December 5, 2002 Spike Dudley shouldn't have a job with the company, he exposes the business almost as bad as the People's Elbow. At least Rey's offense looks like it could be effective. All Spike is good for is bumping. Of course WWE can push anyone they want, but Spike might be the only possible worse choice for champ than Big Show (well, maybe Stasiak, if he was still around).
