Guest The Mighty Damaramu Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 Ok I've seen this T2P stuff everywhere. What is it!? Also I've never seen Toryumon. I know most of there matches are spot fests but if I just want to sit back and enjoy a mindless spot fest...should I get some of there shows? Or stick with the spot fests I already love(MPro)?
Guest Black Tiger Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 TORYUMON 2000 PROJECT Its more or less a Toryumon in Mexico, I've never seen it, but from what I've heard, their matches get old pretty fast.
Guest Jubuki Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 It's Toryumon's new class of students, trained on Llave style Lucha Libre and thrown into some really nutty gimmicks. Depending on how important stories and emotional attachment are to you in relation to impressive spots, this will either wow you or make you smash things for hours.
Guest wolverine Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 The commercials during All Japan TV in 1993 are more entertaining than Toryumon in my book.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 Japanese commercials are brilliant. I recall one where a man was dressed as a turtle, floating down a river, singing a mournful song and blowing a toy trumpet.
Guest Jubuki Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 Was it a commercial or an amphibian, cross-dressing rendition of Hamlet?
Guest DragonflyKid Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 There is a link provided in the "New to puroresu" thread to Toryumon USA which has info on Toryumon and T2P. I've only seen T2P comes to Japan and it didn't have highspots, I don't know about later shows but they never took the action to the outside, it was pretty much elaborate move after move which was impressive but lacked build. The Japanese commercial with synchronized female dancers wearing spandex and tophats disturbs me for some unknown reason.
Guest ChaosTheory Posted December 6, 2002 Report Posted December 6, 2002 I saw the Anniversary show Toryumon did this year and enjoyed it very much. I really enjoyed the main event which was a three team six-man match that had lots of cool spots in it. I would suggest trying it out if you enjoy lucha type action. You can get the tapes for only $10 @ highspots. So if you don't like it then there is no real loss.
Guest K-NESS Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 T2P's style is completely different than Toryumon Japan's. While Toryumon is highflying spots, T2P is a more ground based, with a heavy emphisis on submissions. I would recommend that anyone who hasn't seen T2P to check out a show.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 Was it a commercial or an amphibian, cross-dressing rendition of Hamlet? It was definitely a commercial. What for is beyond me, as there was no definite indication of what the product exactly was. Maybe toy trumpets, or turtle costumes, perhaps even an ad to visit that river, although I can never be sure.
Guest bob_barron Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 Wow- that sounds pretty out there AOO
