Guest cynicalprofit Report post Posted December 5, 2002 http://mrtitopdc.tripod.com/march28_2001.htm But what they did show is the famous Sting vs. Hulk Hogan match from a 1995 Nitro. If you remember, Hogan had doubts about his WCW pals, thinking that anybody could join the evil Dungeon of Doom. Hogan blamed Sting for possibly joining, since he was friends with Luger, and challenged him to a match. Most of the classic match is shown, with Sting getting the louder pops during the match. Sting would eventually slap the Scorpion Death Lock on Hogan, where the Hulkster was immediately screaming to Randy Savage: "he's gonna break it, Macho". That's my favorite Nitro memory. Hogan didn't job in the match, since it had a stupid Dungeon of Doom run in for NO REASON WHATSOEVER! Work or not?

Guest bob_barron Report post Posted December 5, 2002 No it wasn't a shoot- The DOD came in and attacked to further the rift between Hogan and Sting which would help their plan to end Hulkamania. I remember Sting v. Hogan- I was JAKKED for that match
Guest kingkamala Report post Posted December 5, 2002 I saw a clipped version of The Hogan/Sting 95 Nitro match, from what I saw(remember this was a clipped version) the match looked decent-good, at least for Hogan.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted December 5, 2002 I didn't even pay attention to the quality- I was too busy flat out marking out. That same night was the HBK Collapse so there was a lot of flipping back and forth
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted December 5, 2002 That same night was the HBK Collapse so there was a lot of flipping back and forth Who was Michaels supposed to JOB to that night?
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted December 5, 2002 He was fighting Owen. Owen enziguried him, but HBK later dumped him out. He started to celebrate, put his hand to his head and then collapsed it. As a mark it scared the hell out of me
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted December 5, 2002 Ohh shit I forgot about that. Was Owen supposed to go over him that night?
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted December 5, 2002 No- The collapse angle was designed to build up HBK's eventual RR victory, get Owen more over as a heel and establish Diesel as a tweener and to build heat for an eventual rematch between HBK v. Owen
Guest nWoScorpion Report post Posted December 6, 2002 Dumb Question: How can HBK "suppose to job" to Owen that night when he was booked to pass out with "post concussion syndrom" and have Owen pat himself on the back for the next 3 months.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted December 6, 2002 He was wondering if orignally HBK was supposed to lose the match but had the finish changed
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2002 That Hogan/Sting match was their first ever meeting and Hogan played the babyface for most of it they switched half-way through when they got the message that crowed loved Sting much more than Hogan. The match was rather good btw and one of Hogan's best in WCW. And the DOD interfered to further the feud between the 'Hulkamaniacs'(Hogan and whoever) and the DOD. Guest Loss4Words Report post Posted December 8, 2002 I think the reason they ended up not doing the Sting heel turn that was originally planned was that the fans were too much on his side. Seriously, Sting was screwed over so often that who could blame him if he finally got frustrated and turned heel. That's why he was still cheered when they did the NWO angle in 1996. Guest bob_barron Report post Posted December 9, 2002 Sting being the third man would've been cool but I just can't picture Sting as a heel. I've even totally blocked out his heel turn from 1999
Guest kingkamala Report post Posted December 11, 2002 Sting wasn't THAT bad of a heel in 99, it's just he was partnered with Lex Luger who at that time was a total joke and he was feuding Hogan who at that timehad modest face pops at best.
