Guest I'm That Damn Zzzzz Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 First try changing the extension on the file from exe to something like iso. You may have downloaded an CD image that was named wrongly. Then try opening it with cd burning software like Nero. If that doesn't work try WinMX, it returned 400 results for "Windows XP" in less than a minute. Stealing is wrong.
Guest razazteca Posted December 6, 2002 Report Posted December 6, 2002 .exe files could be a compressed zipped file.
Guest Eagan469 Posted December 6, 2002 Report Posted December 6, 2002 It was an ISO - I got everything to work and I'm on XP now Not sure whether or not I should attempt to install SP-1, though. I've heard horror stories about it...
Guest I'm That Damn Zzzzz Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 You probably shouldn't install SP1, it supposedly disables Windows Update on pirated copies of XP, and sp1 has made my computer slower.
