First try changing the extension on the file from exe to something like iso. You may have downloaded an CD image that was named wrongly. Then try opening it with cd burning software like Nero.

If that doesn't work try WinMX, it returned 400 results for "Windows XP" in less than a minute.

 

Stealing is wrong.

It was an ISO - I got everything to work and I'm on XP now B-)

 

Not sure whether or not I should attempt to install SP-1, though. I've heard horror stories about it...

You probably shouldn't install SP1, it supposedly disables Windows Update on pirated copies of XP, and sp1 has made my computer slower.

Just do the regular updates and you will be fine.
