Guest Mole Report post Posted December 6, 2002 Now I didn't know what thread this should be in, so I put it here because it has to do with movies... Well, this isn't going to be posted on 411, but here is my tryout column: Not only is Leonardo DiCaprio going to be staring in Alexander the Great, so are many of Hollywood's A list actors. Over the next two years, Hollywood will be showcasing many movies about epic ancient wars. Once Vin Diesel is done filming the sequel to Pitch Black, he will shoot a biopic of Revolution's Hannibal the Carthaginian who traveled the Alps on an elephant. However, Denzel Washington is rumored to do the same Hannibal film, but to be released by Twentieth Century Fox. Brad Pitt is reported to be staring in Wolfgang Pertersen's Troy; an epic Trojan War, to be disrupted by Warner Bros'. Warner Bros' is also interested in a film about the Roman emperor, Constantine, which Keanu Reeves is wanted to play the part. In other news, three major film companies, Disney, Revolution, and Universal, are all jumping on the bandwagon by filming movies about skateboarding. However, Warner Bros' is doing the same, but their film will hit the cinemas first. Casey LaScala's Grind, is a road-trip/boarding movie that is already halfway done, only four months into production. LaScala has the advantage of being president of production at Gaylord Films. Basically this means that he can pace his own films, and it will cost no less than $10 million dollars. After Warner Bros' releases the film in August, LaScala has written a story about a profiler and serial killer; which will be titled Tempting Pandora. Finally, Jim Davis' fat, food loving, orange cat, Garfield, will hit the big screen. A CGI version of the film will be made, no word on when production starts. Present feedback, and if this is in the wrong thread, I'm sorry and just move it.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted December 6, 2002 There's a rush to release epics about ancient wars? Where did that come from and this is the first I've heard this.

Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted December 6, 2002 You need to do more than reguritate stuff from Entertainment Weekly to be a columnist for any site. Also, EW can be as reliable as the Nation Enquirer at times.
Guest Lethargic Report post Posted December 6, 2002 Stealing from EW is like trying to steal the idea for the car. Everybody already has a car. And everything in EW has been reported on the net months ago. All that news is like a year old at most (the race to make Hannibal, Alexander the Great) or at least a few months (Troy). I mean the reason they started working so hard on all of these is because of the success of Gladiator and that was a while ago. Is that supposed to be a news piece or a "column"? Kinda short for a column and doesn't really say anything. Of course, everything I write is long as hell and STILL doesn't say anything so what do I know? Oh and Keanu's movie Constantine has NOTHING to do with any kind of ancient Roman epic battles or anything remotely like that. It's a comic book movie. It's an adaption of DC's Hellblazer comic. It was originally going to be starring Nicholas Cage but he backed out. So if Entertainment Weekly is reporting that so wrong, they ARE about as reliable as the National Enquirer. Everything I took from EW, I never saw on the net before. So that is why I took it. For instance, I never have heard about the Garfield movie, so that is why I reported it. Nor did I see it reported on 411, so, that is why I reported it. And that was just a writing sample, I wasn't going for a column, just some news bits. Well, if you don't like it, just don't read it. Well, I wouldn't base what's going on in the world on 411. I didn't even know that site still existed. I thought they shot that thing with rat poison and got rid of it years ago or at least I had hoped. If you want movie news go to a movie news site. And if you don't want feedback don't ask for it. Well yes, feedback is nice. I never said I didn't want it. All I said was when I do have the column/news bit, if you don't want to read it, you don't have to.
