Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted December 6, 2002 From Brian Solomon: http://www.wwe.com/news/commentary/brians/1196760 I especially agree about the time period where the title went downhill. Also take note of the last paragraph and who was mentioned. Expect an Anthony Cali article to soon follow saying how the death of the IC title was one of the best things to happen to WWE this year, and giving his props to youknowwho for "retiring" it. Guest ShooterJay Report post Posted December 6, 2002 the fact that it's always the same guy who writes these type of articles means it has to be a gimmick. That said, I agree wholeheartedly.
Guest SP-1 Report post Posted December 6, 2002 Even if a gimmick, I still agree with him. Mid-card titles are important. Creating a US Title and a TV Title to add to their title lists could make things interesting. I really like that idea.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2002 I have to agree about this. I miss the mid-card titles. Wonder what a WWE Made US title would look like...
Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted December 7, 2002 Comparing Eddie to Test? That's just mean.... other than that, it was a pretty good article.
Guest the pinjockey Report post Posted December 7, 2002 How do you think they determine who will be the resident "smark" on the site? Did they actually hire this guy knowing he was had a smark mentality or did he just draw the short straw and get stuck in the job?
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted December 7, 2002 I've always wanted them to have a WWE US title. That would rock. Bring back the old WCW US title (best looking belt in WCW, IMO).
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2002 I've always wanted them to have a WWE US title. That would rock. Bring back the old WCW US title (best looking belt in WCW, IMO). Thing is, they'd have to change all the WCW logos on the belt to WWE ones. Oh...and I remember that before the most recent WCW US TItle, they had this god-awful belt with the gold part shaped like the continental US.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted December 7, 2002 There fact that he calls wrestling 'sports entertainment' just throws his crediblity right out the window and I stop reading right away.
Guest The Tino Standard Report post Posted December 7, 2002 Solomon writes... "What good is it for the World titles to be more important than ever if it means that only a tiny handful of Superstars will ever contend for gold in any given year? On the rosters right now, outside of RAW's Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Kane and Rob Van Dam, and SmackDown!'s Kurt Angle, Undertaker, Big Show and Brock Lesnar, are there really many others who will even be in contention for a World title anytime soon? Maybe one or two, but no more than that." - So who does the company have to blame for THAT?
Guest treble charged Report post Posted December 7, 2002 On the rosters right now, outside of RAW's Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Kane and Rob Van Dam, and SmackDown!'s Kurt Angle, Undertaker, Big Show and Brock Lesnar, are there really many others who will even be in contention for a World title anytime soon? OMGOMGOMGOGMOMG! He didn't mention Jericho or Booker. They're being held down!!! Seriously, though, I wonder why those two didn't get any mention, as they've both held that title already (well, in WWE's sense, anyway), and are considered in my eyes to be stronger threats to the title than Kane is. Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted December 7, 2002 the Undertaker? Isn't he injured or something? I would think that maybe Benoit would be a bigger contender than someone injured. Meh, whatever, He probably just forgot or something.
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted December 7, 2002 They could have more main eventers if they just PUSHED GUYS. They seem like they /will/ get around to pushing Kurt, but the other two in his matchups have credibility from all these edge-of-your-seat matches. I think that Edge is booked against Albert is a big sign that SD isn't exactly flawless in bringing up talent. Edge is nowhere near ready to be bringing guys up to his level, he just barely got to this level himself, and they don't seem sure to let him main event either. If they could only push Edge, Benoit, Guererro, and Angle, they'd be close to early 2001 where they had all this great talent and had no clue what to do about it. Why doesn't the booking team do this? None of the elders have wanted to give these guys credibility, so they went out and earned it themselves. The Undertaker isn't even here right now, so they could push the guy without his "I'm not feeling it" shit and by the time he's back he would see that the show has passed him by. As for Raw... Forget it. Brian Gewertz is the new Vince Russo.
