ChrisMWaters Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 OK...I don't know if this is true or just a rumor. However, I'm gonna post it anyway... For the past month or so, there has been some talk backstage regarding bringing Edge to RAW to feud with Triple H. In fact, there was actually a plan to have Edge win the title in the Elimination Chamber at Survivor Series. As you obviously know, WWE scrapped such plans and went with the idea to have HBK win at Survivor Series, setting up another HBK/HHH match for Armageddon. Now...would that have been a better plan?
Guest the pinjockey Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 It would be a change of pace which is what we are begging for, but in the end you know what would happen so I would say that it would not be a better plan. Better to sacrifice HBK to HHH instead of Edge who may be useful in the future.
Guest AndrewTS Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 Blah...the result would be moot because then Trips would personally kill his push. He's going to job to Albert now anyway, so I think it's bull, because I'd think if they planned that they'd be pushing him huge regardless, not feeding him to JR's favorite wrestler.
Guest bob_barron Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 Considering how MSG hates Edge- I'm sure they would've loved it
ChrisMWaters Posted December 7, 2002 Author Report Posted December 7, 2002 Considering how MSG hates Edge- I'm sure they would've loved it Funny... I thought that they didn't mind him back in Summerslam of 1998, when he was revealed to be the mystery partner of Sable in that match that they had.
Guest Will Scarlet Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 I actually would not mind an Edge-Triple H feud. Even though, I would agree with those who have said it would be a no win situation among some smarks who would bitch no matter what the result.
Guest HartFan86 Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 I actually have Edge and HHH feuding in EWR right now. I'm gunna have Edge win most of the matches Anyways, something about Edge this year has started making me a huge fan of his. I think it was either watching all this awesome matches, him teaming with Hogan in July (saw it live), or meeting him on July 1 and having him sign a poster from WWF Magazine that was like a month after he debuted. He said that the poster "totally ruled." And I marked.

Guest Sykotic2002 Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 Where did you find that at about Edge beating Triple H in the Chamber?

No, his first match was when he broke the neck of one of the Boriquas.
Guest bob_barron Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 Edge has been at MSG three times and each the crowd has hated him.
Guest DJ Jeff Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 Yet again the WWE fucks up the chance to push someone else. I can almost bet HHH had some say in this. It was probably his idea to have HBK win the World Title, then for him beat HBK at Armageddon and win back the World Title. Notice something here? Everytime HHH loses the title, he'll plan some way for him to win it back. Just once I'd like to see HHH lose the title, and not bitch and moan about how he should still be the World Champion. I wouldn't be surprised if he actually did bitch and moan backstage everytime he wasn't the champion. Sorry, but I can't stand HHH at all.
Guest The Tino Standard Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 Did he have a plan to win the Undisputed Title back when it was hotshotted to Hogan back in April? If he did, that plan never came to fruition.
Guest bob_barron Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 Once again- putting Edge over for the title at MSG would've been a stupid move
Guest DJ Jeff Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 Did he have a plan to win the Undisputed Title back when it was hotshotted to Hogan back in April? If he did, that plan never came to fruition. No, not really. That's about the only time I can think of. Well, except for when he lost the WWE Title the first time, which was at the Survivor Series 1999. He didn't really win the title back right away. I'm probably just making these assumptions just because I can't stand him. Something I really shouldn't do, since I'm probably wrong, but meh.
Guest bob_barron Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 Triple H went almost two years w/o the belt from KOTR 2000-X-8
Guest Bricks Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 Edge has been at MSG three times and each the crowd has hated him. It sounded like he got a nice pop when he entered the 2000 Royal Rumble... which peaked when he spanked Crash's ass.
Guest bob_barron Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 They don't like non-gothic face Edge. Regal got a loud reaction for beating the fuck out of him. The next night Edge tried to get a catchphrase and failed. And at Survivor Series he got booed
JasonX Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 Did he have a plan to win the Undisputed Title back when it was hotshotted to Hogan back in April? If he did, that plan never came to fruition. He got to make Jericho his bitch in HitC in exchange for jobbing to Hogan...
Guest the pinjockey Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 No he went over Jericho at Judgement Day because it was on a Sunday. There is a clause in his contract he gets to beat Jericho whenever he wants on days that end with a Y. He jobbed to Hogan for the same reason he jobbed to Michaels. There was no threat of taking the spot and he probably wanted to job to Hogan instead of UT.
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 He lost the belt to Hogan, but he was supposed to win it back at KOTR against Taker until he injured his elbow and they changed the booking.

The next night Edge tried to get a catchphrase and failed. And at Survivor Series he got booed Actuallly during his entrance he got virtually no reaction at all. I'm talking almost Billy Kidman-level...now that's bad! It was only during the match he got booed, but that was because he was going against the crowd's golden boy in Angle. Rey got booed against Angle as well, and Rey did get a sizeable entrance pop. I agree that Edge winning the title at SS would have been very anti-climactic.
Guest FeArHaVoC Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 Edge has been at MSG three times and each the crowd has hated him. Since his debut in 98, he's only been there 3 Times? That can't be right. Don't forget, Storm 1:08 was born at MSG against Edge.

There have been three PPV's at MSG since 1998: SummerSlam 1998, Royal Rumble 2000, and Survivor Series this year. They've probably been there about 10 times for Raw, about 5 for Smackdown and more than 15 times for house shows.
