...now, did you read it?

Good, I love this quote by Lt. Gen. Hossam Mohammed Amin...

As for today, "I reiterate here Iraq has no weapons of mass destruction," he told reporters. "I think if the United States has the minimum level of fairness and braveness, it should accept the report and say this is the truth."

...oh really kind sir? I don't think we'll all be jumping on the Iraqi bandwagon just yet, ok, we never will. The entire G.W. Bush staff are claiming that they have 100%, without a doubt, evidence that the know for a fact that Iraq DOES have such weapons, so this brings me to my next question...

...if come Sunday, Monday, or whenever we review the entire 12,000 pages (yes I said 12,000, thousands more than most suspected that it would be), what if Bush Jr. comes out and actually PROVIDES proof? This will make Sadam and the entire government of Iraq to be no more than liars, period. Will THAT then be enough to get more world wide support for the US in a military onslaught against that dictator? What will Iraq's possible reaction be?

I mean, could it just be that the very reason that Bush has held this evidence and has not shown it yet to the world, is because he was somewhat just waiting for this very report to come out, as he KNEW Iraq would just they they didn't have any? I mean, had he released it sooner, all they would have to have done was include whatever we proved they had in the report, and it would have shown them as going along with the resolution and everything, making them out to be this group of great friends and people we can trust.

So just sit back and wait, as if we DO have the type of proof we say we have, then things could get very interesting across the globe.

Sincerely,

...Downhome...

Saddam could start waving a nuke around and some people would just stick their head in the sand and not want to do anything about it.

Give him a few months and he might be able to.

I have to be skeptical about the Iraqi delcaration. They don't exactly have a history of telling the truth, so what makes people think they're suddenly going to start now? The fact is, Saddamn has ~120,000 "presidential buildings" that have always been off-limits to UN inspectors, and many of them make great places to store WMD. We'll see.

Saddam apologized to the people of Kuwait for invading and terrorizing their country in 1990. Why do I have the feeling that alot of Kuwaiti's will "except his apology".

Yeah, he "apoligized" to them in the documents, and then went on to urge them to NOT support the US. Damn, he needs new material, seriously.

Europe is like Homer Simpson in that it allows Bart (Iraq) to get away with anything. I remember the episode where after Homer sees Bart pulling up the carpet says "look at that hound dog face. He's learned his lesson". They are easily conned and incredibly naive. I guess we'll have Jacques Chirac and Gerhard Schroeder citing this docuent as proof Iraq doesn't have weapons.

If the US actually provides conclusive proof that he has so called "Weapons of mass destruction" then I'm sure they'll get all the support they need.

As for Europe = Naive...that's just retarded. Why should Europe help invade Iraq? What has Iraq ever done to them? They have no reason to care. The US does, which is the big difference here.

European countries have long been tacit (and sometimes vocal) supporters of Iraq. They also tend to buy a lot from Iraq and pump money into their economy, which for years has gone toward oppressing its own people and supporting Palestine and Usama bin Laden. So yes, Europe IS naive, willfully and dangerously so.

Bush: Well Saddam, as we say in America *pushes button* "Liar, liar, pants on fire." Well, I say pants, but i really mean palace. My bad.

Not many. The Kuwati government saw right through it and Kuwati's that were interviewed just brushed it off, saying things like "Saddam's slipping" and "Saddam's going senile".

Prediciton: US goes to war by summer, Iraquis help overthrow him within 3 months.

Since when has Iraq and Al-Quaida been at all associated? Iraq is a secular nation, while Al-Quaida and Bin Laden are religious zealots. I was under the impression that they didn't even like each other. I think Iraq has supported the PLO and probably groups like Hezbollah and Hamas, but I'm not sure about Al Quaida. Can you find a link or two to help prove that?

As for buying a lot from Iraq, America doesn't exactly have a lot of problems with buying from countries like, say, China. Or Congo. Or Sierra Leone. Or Saudia Arabia. Do you really think all of the US trading partners are saints? That would be truly naive.

Since Saddam Hussein gave Al'Qaeda approximately $50 million dollars in the mid-1990s. He also bankrolled part of the 9/11 operation. There have been numerous news stories, documents, and articles to support this.

I think Iraq has supported the PLO...

Indeed it has, to the tune of $25,000 each to the family of homicide bombers who succeed in killing innocent Israelis.

but I'm not sure about Al Quaida. Can you find a link or two to help prove that?

Do your own homework. Articles like that shouldn't be hard to find. Specifically, "60 Minutes" ran a story on it a while back, along with Hussein's contributions to the PLO.

Certainly not. That also wasn't the point; moral relativism never is. The point was that many countries in Europe have been pouring money into the Iraqi economy for years. We've cut back a lot on our oil comsumption from the Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia. I'd like to see Europe do the same, but I suspect they lack the spines for it.

Let's not forget that Al Qaeda isn't against just America. It's against the "West" which includes Europe. Besides, if Hussien gets WMD, where do you think will be the SECOND place he sends them?

Tell that to everyone but Great Britian. Tony Blair seems to understand that Europe is a target of Hussein and other terrorist groups no matter how much they wanna deny it. Sadly it would take something like the Bali bombing to wake up Germany or France.

I agree with Verne- if Europe had a major terrorist attack I wonder if their views would change

So if they don't have any WMDs at all, why does it take 12,000 pages to say that?

Saddam probably does have nukes and stuff....only those weapons are in North Korea.
