Guest bcu1979 Report post Posted December 7, 2002 A couple of notes from the latest Wrestling Observer. Some of the top wrestlers on RAW have said that management has told them that Steve Austin is returning. Kurt Angle is getting a his knee scoped after Armageddon. They are hoping he'll be back in time for the Royal Rumble. (I don't think he's missed a PPV since he joined the WWE.) Kevin Nash's rehab is going much slower than expected. It's too early for a return date but it's not going to be the Rumble. Nathan Jones, who Vince wants to push as a monster, has heat with Brock Lesnar. At some shows Jones jumped from the floor to the apron like Lesnar does. Lesnar came up to him and told him that was his "deal" and not to do it anymore. Apparently, Jones has done this ever since he started wrestling. No ratings notes this week because of the holiday.

Guest Eagan469 Report post Posted December 7, 2002 Austin's returning - obviously Nash is behind schedule - gee, I wonder why Nathan Jones - If he does the happy dance HEADS WILL ROLL!
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted December 7, 2002 Brock seems to be an asshole backstage. If you want to get picky, Sycho Sid did the jumpy thing WAY before Brock.

If Nash can get back in time, I'm sure he'll get a prime spot on the Mania card. I wouldn't be surprised if he got a shot at Triple H's title even. (After all, RVD, Jericho and Booker aren't ready to be the champ.) Triple H v. Nash Triple H v. Nash v. Michaels Triple H/X-Pac v. Nash/Michaels Nash v. Steiner So much to look forward to. Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted December 7, 2002 What is all this talk about Nash getting a super push? He had like 3 matches before he tore his Quad. Even Vince shooted on him and said he better hold his own weight, or he'll be out the door next. Then Nash flipped him off. Nash would have probably been shit canned by now anyway, but Vince doesn't like to lay off people when their Hurt. And I know he was suppose to have a match with Triple H @ Summerslam, but I wouldn't call that a Big Push.

And I know he was suppose to have a match with Triple H @ Summerslam, but I wouldn't call that a Big Push. The plan was for him in the 10 man tag match was to pin Booker T (who had just turned face) clean and power bomb all the babyfaces to get him over as this big monster leading into his match with Triple H at SummerSlam. Sounds like a big push to me. Not to mention the reports at the time that Nash had weasled his way into getting Vince's ear once again. I'm sure the plan is the same when he comes back. Just look at how he matches up on the WWE Push creiterion. - Tall - Good hair - "In" politically - Older than Triple H - Proven company/ratings killer He's a shoe-in for a push. Guest geniusMoment Report post Posted December 7, 2002 Considering Hogan and Austin were the two biggest stars in wwf history I hardly think hair matters, except with Nash
Guest CanadianChris Report post Posted December 7, 2002 Don't forget that HHH is going to need someone else to drop the title to sometime next year. That way, he can reinforce the idea that he's a good company guy who jobs when asked to, ala the HBK fiasco. Nash's push is practically guaranteed under those conditions. Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted December 7, 2002 Nathan Jones, who Vince wants to push as a monster, Oh, joy. I can hardly wait. WHY NOT COME UP WITH SOMETHING NEW FOR ONCE?! I know he'll suck no matter what, but at least try!! Well, I guess Hurricane, Storm, and RVD will be fed to him. Yay. has heat with Brock Lesnar. At some shows Jones jumped from the floor to the apron like Lesnar does. Lesnar came up to him and told him that was his "deal" and not to do it anymore. Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted December 7, 2002 I find it hilarious that they would seriously consider pushing Nash again. What possible good could come from this? The guy is old and probably in worse shape physically than Shawn(I mean Shawn can at least walk across the ring). I heard that Matt was supposed to get the push that Albert got instead. I have no idea either aside from Albert being big.

Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted December 8, 2002 Supposedly he's going to Raw. Of course, supposedly Vince said shock TV was dead and supposedly WWE is run by people who know something about the business. I can hardly wait for that epic Batista/Jones feud. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted December 8, 2002 I still say they should make Nathan Jones the superhero to Hurricane's sidekick. Or make him Hurricane's arch nemesis.

At some shows Jones jumped from the floor to the apron like Lesnar does. Lesnar came up to him and told him that was his "deal" and not to do it anymore. Apparently, Jones has done this ever since he started wrestling. Ok, so let me get this straight - Jones feels that since he's been doing the "leap up to the apron" bit for a long time, he has the right to continue using it in the WWE, even though its already a trade mark of Lesnar's? Out of all the dumb reasons to be at odds with a top name, this may be the most ridiculous. It doesn't matter how long Jones has been doing it - I'm sure there's someone out there who claims to have been doing the people's elbow before the Rock came up with it, but that doesn't mean they can come on TV and start using it. Jones already has his work cut out for him if he wants to be noticed in the current sea of roid freaks, and making enemies with those high up the ladder is never the best way to start. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted December 8, 2002 You're taking LESNAR'S side in this? It's INCREDIBALLY obvious that this push has turned Lesnar into a total dick. He had to have the title taken off of him because of it, and now he's picking fights with someone because of how he enters the ring? Does anyone GIVE a fuck how the wresters enter the ring? Lesnar needs to be brought down to earth, like, NOW.
Guest midnight_burn Report post Posted December 8, 2002 Is the WWE capable of creating a gimmick for someone other than "big hoss monster"? Batista, Brock and countless others, now lets add Nathan Jones to the mix. Vince needs to be sent to the retirement home.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted December 8, 2002 I'm going to predict that Lesnar is the next HHH. Holding talented people back. I even see a serious injury which will ruin his in ring ability, and make him a slow prodding hoss.

It's like football. Say you have a jersey number you wore all through high school, but when you get to the NFL that number is taken already. You have to get a new number, but that doesn't take away from the fact that you're in the NFL finally.
