DVDs..........which DVD movies are good?

Hmmmmm....I have no clue on what DVDs I should get. I was thinking of a wrestling DVD, but I don't know which one was good.

I have seen Simpsons DVDs with full seasons. Which seasons do they have, and which season was the best?

What DVDs do you all suggest?

I'd suggest some indy horror flick. The DVDs put out for indy horror flicks are usually jam-packed with extras, including commentary, behind-the-scenes featurettes, music videos, interviews with the cast, and trailers.

Might I suggest:

The Dead Hate The Living

It's recommended by me, Jingus, AND evenflowDDT (I believe HE is the one that did the good review of it on THIS VERY SITE). GET IT, FUCKER!

What if you're like me and have an aversion to getting anything that might scare me?

For WWE DVDs, everyone will suggest these:

Mick Foley: Hard Knocks & Cheap Pops

Hulk Still Rules

Stone Cold Steve Austin: What?

They only have the first two seasons of The Simpsons out on DVD. If you're a completist like most people here (I think), you'll get them both, but if you only get one, get Season 2.

If you're into DVD collections of TV shows, I also suggest 24 (season 1), the Buffy sets (seasons 1 & 2, and season 3 out Jan. 7th) , and the Sports Night set that came out recently.

I also liked the True Romance special edition that came out earlier this year. It was a great movie and it had a shitload of extras.

Then avoid Pauly Shore and Carrot Top movies.

You can't go wrong with Monty Python movies. The Holy Grail SE is pretty good, and if you're willing to shell out you can get the Criterion Collection version of The Life of Brian. The "Live" DVD set is quite affordable, and acts like a "best of" compilation of skits.

'almost famous' is a great one, featuring the best commentary EVER.

'memento' has a really good one as well.

My first DVD was Batman (1987), but it has NO EXTRAS so I wouldn't advise getting it.

If you're into LotR I suggest Lord of the Ring: The Fellowship Of The Ring (Widescreen Edition).

Batman (1987)

1989.

Sorry, but Mattman has to watch Batman's back sometimes. Now, to the Mattmobile!

The Evil Dead series has some solid releases, if the guys have gotten you into culty-type horror movies.

I'd strongly recommend the new True Romance 2-disc DVD and the new Fellowship of the Rings Extended Edition as well. They are both fantastic, in quality and special features.

The first DVD I got was Jaws 2 not the first Jaws folks Jaws 2. Actually the movie itself is decent and has a pretty kick ass ending. Also the DVD has some decent special features so it wasn't a total loss. The second DVD I bought was Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey. Ah memories.

While we're on the subject, the first DVDs I bought were Fight Club, The Matrix, and Goldfinger.

first DVD I got was South Park: Bigger Longer and Uncut

I reccomend Almost Famous, Memento, Se7en, Fight Club, anything from MST3K, all the View Askew stuff, and anything from George Carlin

I'll put in my vote for the Fight Club special edition, too. FOUR commentary tracks (although this is on the regular edition, too), ample deleted scenes, good stuff.

Also, Mallrats, for one of the best commentary tracks of all time, as Smith and co. alternately trash and apologize profusely for the film.

Anything in the Criterion Collection is worth your money, too.

I believe my first DVD was Blade Runner.

This was back when DVD players had first came down in price to a level consumers could afford and there was like 50 movies total.

Definitely get all the Kevin Smith films, for the commentaries and extra footage. They pack literal hours of good stuff in there, much more than your average DVD. Plus, Smith and Co. are even more funny in the commentaries than they are in the movies. Definitely more bang for your buck.

As for Fight Club, I noticed that in the commentary featuring the three leads, Helena Bonham Carter's stuff seems to have been added in here and there, as if she wasn't present for the recording session with Brad Pitt, Edward Norton and director David Fincher, but they wanted to create the illusion that she was. Weird, no?

Might I also add the special edition DVD for This is Spinal Tap, where they throw in over an hour's worth of unused footage spliced together chronologically into another feature. It's like you're getting an extra Spinal Tap movie. You can also see where each scene might have been used in the final cut. Hilarious stuff.

Fist of Legend is one of Jet Li's greatest movies, it is a remake of a Bruce Lee classic, which has his mentor/master murdered by a rival school.

Adam Sandler movies are in general good but stay far away from Little Nicky and Mr Deeds.

Scar Face, Goodfellas, Casino - Al F'N Palcino as a mafia boss, what else do you need?!?

Cinema Pardismo - one of the greatest forgein films made about a kid working in as a movie theater projectionist then returns home as an adult to realize how life has changed in the small town.
