Guest kingkamala Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 Today is the day that the Smart Marks show love for teams that no one reallly gives a crap about right now. NFL: Cincinatti(sp?) Bengals! Those wacky Carolina Panthers! The Jacksonville Jaguars! The Seattle Seahawks(No one except for Mr. Rant) The New York Jets(They deserve no fans, Yankee lovin' bastards) NBA: The Cleveland Cavs The always loveable Memphis Grizzlies The Millwauke Bucks The Chicago Bulls......after Jordan, Rodman and Pippen left The Denver Nuggets The Golden State Warriors The LA Clippers(Except for me the Clips' are my 2nd favorite NBA team for some reason don't ask why) The Atlanta Hawks The LA Lakers(Phewwww..... I've been waiting to say nobody gives two shits about the LA Lakers for three god damn years) MLB: Tampa Bay Devil Rays Florida Marlins Detroit Tigers Montreal(Soon to be San Juan) Expos The present day Toronto Blue Jays The Cleveland Indians the Philidelphia Phillies(Before they got Thome) The Chicago White Sox Kansas City Royals Baltimore Orioles Now the NHL fans can fill in all the crappy teams they want. Now as for my favorite crappy teams, NFL: The Bengals are my favorite shitty NFL team, their crappiness brings pure joy to my face everytime they lose in overtime. NBA: I said above my favorite crappy NBA team is the LA Clippers although they'll only be crappy for the rest of this season at most. The Clippers are gunna be the #1 team in LA I tell you! MLB: I've always showed mad love for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, don't know why. But Tropicana Field sure is a kick ass baseball stadium, especially for a shittty team like the Devil Rays.
Guest jimmy no nose Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 I don't really go out of my way to watch any of those teams except the Lakers, but I do like some of them. NFL: I like the Carolina Panthers and the Jacksonville Jaguars. They may have bad records, but they play competitive football almost every week. Carolina could easily have 4 or 5 more wins. NBA: I have been a Lakers fan for 20 years. A bad 20 game stretch is not going to change that. I watch every Lakers game I get a chance to. MLB: I've been an Indians fan for a few years. I like to watch Montreal and Florida, because they at least come close to winning divisions without the giant pay rolls everyone else is giving out.
Guest bravesfan Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 MLB: All the other teams in the NL East not from New York. I feel a sense of pride when the Marlins, Expos or Phillies do great. NBA: I've been a die-hard Chicago Bulls fan since I can remember. It seems like the franchise is finally turning around, even with Jerry Krause... NFL: It WAS the Carolina Panthers, until they rid themselves of Coach Seifert...BAH!
Guest DawnBTVS Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 MLB: Cleveland Indians(I still dig them) NBA: Memphis Grizzlies(Tons of young talent, could go far in the future) NFL: Seattle Seahawks
Guest JHawk Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 MLB: The Cleveland Indians. They're still my favorite team even if they intentionally pissed away their fanbase with bonehead trades. NBA: I root for the Cavs because they're local, and the bright side is making the playoffs will actually be a big deal if they ever get anybody decent in. NFL: I thought people like the Jags. Am I missing something?
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 MLB: Orioles, I mean, they haven't been that much better than the Devil Rays the last 3 years..
Guest The Czech Republic Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 I used to love the Hartford Whalers. All the NHL teams that suck are crappy for a reason and unlikable. At least the Whale had Brass Bonanza.
Guest kingkamala Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 I might see the Devil Rays live this year against the Chicago White Sox in June when I go down to Tampa to visit my mom's cousin. If I go I'll be one of the 35 people in Tropicana Field.....that's counting the players for the White Sox and Devil Rays and the coaches.
Guest treble charged Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 I always loved the Expos. They've always been my second favourite team, after the Blue Jays. I've been to more baseball games at Olympic Stadium than any other stadium for any other sport. I had tears in my eyes when I thought they were going to be contracted.
Guest CanadianChris Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 MLB: I've been a Blue Jays and Expos fan since before I can remember. The day the World Series was cancelled in 1994 was as depressing as the the days the Blue Jays won the Series in 1992 and 1993 were joyous. NFL: Nope...never liked any of those teams, except maybe Seattle. NBA: I'll make sure to bump this thread when the Lakers are parading in mid-June...AGAIN. I've been a fan since '85.
Guest JHawk Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 Chris, just because the Lakers might "win" another championship doesn't mean anybody outside of L.A. is going to give a crap. I know I won't.
Guest alkeiper Posted December 8, 2002 Report Posted December 8, 2002 Phillies. Got my attention last year with their playoff run, and I attend their AAA games regularly.
Guest Mad Dog Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 The Bengals are only a few players away from being somewhat competitive. Corey Dillion and Takeo Spikes deserve more recognition.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 The Bengals are only a few players away from being somewhat competitive. Corey Dillion and Takeo Spikes deserve more recognition. How many damn f'ing times are we gonna hear that about the Bengals. There always one or two players away and they continue to suck year in and year out. They"ll draft Carson Palmer with the first pick and he"ll either be a bust or will get hurt.
Guest bravesfan Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 The Bengals DESPERATELY need a quarterback, so they'll probably get the 1st pick in the 2003 draft...and go after a tight end.
Guest bob_barron Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 I've been a Saints fan all my life and I didn't hop off the Canucks bandwagon when they went down the shitter
Guest Flyboy Posted December 10, 2002 Report Posted December 10, 2002 I've been a Saints fan all my life I LOVE the Saints, but... I've only started watching football this season.
Guest Phr33k Posted December 10, 2002 Report Posted December 10, 2002 YAW EXPOS! Also the Calgary Flames, who might not be as bad as they've shown. They beat Vancouver tonight (let's see Keith rationalize THAT one).
Guest bob_barron Posted December 10, 2002 Report Posted December 10, 2002 I'm sure the refs were biased.
Guest starvenger Posted December 10, 2002 Report Posted December 10, 2002 It always seems that everyone (outside of Toronto) hates the Leafs so I might as well re-pledge my allegiance to the blue-and-white. Belfour has really surprised me with his play. I've actually seen the Bengals live. You haven't experienced them to the fullest until you see a stadium full of fans go home heartbroken. Again...
Guest Mad Dog Posted December 10, 2002 Report Posted December 10, 2002 The Bengals are always one or two players away from a decent team. It's just fucking Mike Brown doesn't know what the fuck he's doing. He gets something halfway decent going and then he either trades away or benches the working parts of that system. Hell for 3 years in a row the Bengals would start the season 2-6 and finish it up 5-3. All they had to do was win in the beginning of the season and they would've gotten somewhere. He somehow managed to destroy the team when the QB depth chart was Jeff Blake, Bommer Eiason and Neil O'Donnell. The team really needs a complete purge in the front office. Right now what they need to do is draft Byron Leftwitch or Carson Palmer and then even if they do fuck up the first season stick with them. They need to actually hire a QB coach to develop these guys. I don't think Kitna's overly horrible but Chad Johnson running his routes incorrectly doesn't help. Then they need to trade or cut Chad Johnson unless he starts to actually run his routes right. Then they need a whole new offensive line. On Defense they need a new defensive line and at least one good corner.
Guest hardyz1 Posted December 10, 2002 Report Posted December 10, 2002 I thought Houston had the first pick again by default? Oh well, Cincy won't have to worry about them drafting a QB. Houston will almost certainly draft an O lineman first. I've always liked the Panthers. Hell, I owned a Panthers hat before they even played a game.
Guest meanmaisch Posted December 10, 2002 Report Posted December 10, 2002 I'm a Phillies fan, which means nine times out of ten I'm in absolute agony.
Guest redbaron51 Posted December 10, 2002 Report Posted December 10, 2002 Seattle Seahawks Minnesota Twins Miami Heat Montreal Canadiens
Guest The Electrifyer Posted December 10, 2002 Report Posted December 10, 2002 NBA: I've always and will always love the Bulls
Guest Phr33k Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 Who hates the Habs? <------ HAHA YOU SUCK BRUINS GO HABS GO
Guest RepoMan Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 Lifelong Orioles and Bulls fan.
Guest ant_7000 Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 Im a die hard Chicago Bulls fan no matter what, same as goes for the ChiSox even thou the Cubs get a lot of attention around here and they don't have winning seasons as the Sox do.
Guest Kingpk Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 Still a Red Sox fan here. Although we're going into Year 85 of futility, one of our greatest players is now frozen somewhere in Arizona, the park they play in sucks (nostalgia be dammed), Pedro is whining about his contract...AGAIN, Manny is overpaid and "uncomfortable", they're going to trade either Nomar or Hillenbrand (that's the rumor going around), and to top it all off, the new GM still has to be carded and he has about 245 assistants (yeah, they have ALL the confidence in him). *sigh* And yet, everyone in March will be saying "This is the year!!" then wind up 16 games behind the Yankees after they lose 20 straight in July.
