Guest Mad Dog Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 Well I got the DVD and I noticed something odd. A lot of the new characters like Powerglide, Inferno, etc just seem to appear one episode with no real reasoning. Granted I think I skipped 2 episodes here and there but in the episode with the Optimus Prime clone Powerglide is there. So is there an episode where the new characters come in or do they just appear. If it's the later I'll be very disappointed as the first season had excellent continuity and explained everything.

Well the thing you have to remember is that the show was there to sell the toys. Thus, every character would get at least a token appearance on the show. This isn't uncommon - GIJoe folloewd the same formula The first season was probably more cohesive because there was less product to push and a greater focus could be put on the story arcs and characterization. After that... well, how many times did you see Skids and Smokescreen?
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 Did anyone else notice they misnumbered teh episodes? The last ep of season one was episode 16: Heavy Metal Wars. They also list the first ep of season 2 as ep #16 :Autobot Spike. WHATZUPWITDAT?
Guest Mad Dog Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 I was wondering that myself. I figured it was something along those lines, but I was holding out hope due to all the great care taken with season 1.

Man, I hate sounding like an apologist...
Guest Karnage Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 Is the VQ on the Transformers DVDs good? I heard that they over-remastered it and the colours are all different than what they should be and stuff.
Guest starvenger Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 Well, it's not a Turnerization, if that's what you mean. Basically it's a lot cleaner than the old tapes or any generational bootlegs that you might own.
