Martin Scorsece vs Orson Welles...one gem doesn't get my vote

:o Scorsece better not beat Welles!!!

Hitchcock

Welles

Welles had more than one masterpiece. Scorsece, eh, I didn't like Goodfellas.

Why the hell did Hawks go over Spielberg? The voting was tied at the end of the last round. What was the basis for the tie-breaker?

The writing would appear to be on the wall this round, despite both of these being very difficult choices.

Hitchcock

and you know this how? I might've seen a lot of Welles and Hawks movies for all you know. I just happen to think Welles isn't as good as Scorsese, and could care less about Hawks

All right

Alfred Hitchcock vs. Howard Hawks

This was actually tougher than one might think

Martin Scorsese vs. Orson Welles

Perhaps my Scorsese rallying has in some way helped. Please say it is true lord...

Welles

The only person I'd ever vote over Welles is probably Kurosawa.

Anyone going to answer the man's question?

a) very few people have seen most of welles's other movies

b) nobody i know who HAS seen most of welles's movies would think the choice between him & scorsese would be easy; the call is closer than one might think

Tough choice in both categories. If I had to vote again tomorrow there's a good chance my vote would go the other way.

Alfred Hitchcock vs. Howard Hawks

I love Hawks' movies to death, I just like Hitchcock's movies a bit more than Hawks'.

Martin Scorsese vs. Orson Welles

I haven't seen enough of Welles' work outside of Citizen Kane and Touch of Evil to fairly judge it (stupid local video stores ), plus I just like Taxi Driver a bit more than Touch of Evil at the moment.

Me. I was tired of waiting for someone else to vote.
