Guest EricMM Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 Well it only makes sense to put RVD on the show, instead of say, a womens match. I mean, barring some sort of injury Rob sustained that we haven't heard about, why deny the fans their man?
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 Once again. Making money and sending fans home happy has NOTHING to do with the WWE's motivations right now. We are deep into the Kliq era version 2.0
Guest EricMM Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 But WHAT is the POINT of the KLIQ? What does it do!? What is it's purpose!? How does it put proverbial asses in seats?
Guest Brian Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 It doesn't need to. It just makes sure it's getting the largest slice of the pie, no matter how big it is.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 True that. They'd make more money getting a smaller percentage of a better product. But that just isn't in the gameplan. I guarantee you HHH got larger payoffs in the midcard while Austin was drawing the house in 98 than he is getting at the top of the card now with no one in attendance.
Guest EricMM Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 So WHY does Vince allow the kliq to determine who does what
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 That's a question only Vince can answer. I'd guess part of it is that he's always had a spft spot for Micheals...and I've always read that he considers Nash a "Friend". I just find it funny that the people who destroy his pocketbook are the ones who find there way to be his closest friends. We know why HHH can do whatever he wants. Mainly...I think Vince's problem is that when an idea fails he doesn't abandon it...he pushes it harder to prove that it can work.
Guest Brian Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 Nah. 2000 he cemented himself and probably got his contract re-negotiated at the time and now draws from a much larger base; plus he probably had a lot of leverage going into those negotiations. The reason Vince listens to the Kliq so much is because he trusts them. That trust is unfounded but they've managed to manipulate him and his right-hand men enough over the years.
JasonX Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 <I'd guess part of it is that he's always had a spft spot for Micheals...> That and the ever-present rumors that HBK has a habit of trading sex for political favors and control over the book from Vince <Mainly...I think Vince's problem is that when an idea fails he doesn't abandon it...he pushes it harder to prove that it can work.> Not to "prove that it can work", so much as "prove that every single idea I come up with is a genius idea and that I'm never wrong"....
