According to the Vampiro shoot, La Parka is a mega star in Mexico, on levels bigger than Austin and Rock. Is this true or is Vampiro full of it?

La Parka is best known in the US for his dancing and cool enterence music.

it is true La Parka is a huge superstar, he is the only Luchadore to have a entrance that is as good as or better than any entrance from the WWE!

Who else can command a Michael Jackson impersonator & THRILLER DANCERS to lip sync and do a 1 minute song in the ring before a match?

Just like any popular character in Mexico there are several clones out there such as a woman and mini Luchadores using the gimmick.

The La Parka that appears on AAA Lucha Libre is the real guy right?

La Parkcito is the mini

Nueva de La Parka is the woman

Jr is the recent person using the gimmick

The La Parka in AAA isn't the Parka we all knew and loved from WCW. When the original Parka left AAA, Antonio Pena (owner of the company) still owned the rights to the character so he just stuck someone else in the costume. Sorta like the fake Diesel and Razor of Mexico.

Original Parka still uses the gimmick on the Mexican indies, shows in Tijuana and the like. He has wrestled the occasional match for CMLL but can't appear on TV for legal reasons.

He has been touted as the biggest drawing card in Mexico (if not #1, he's right up there with Santo), although I'm not sure if the gates he draws would be at Austin/Rock levels.

the real La Parka does the MLW shows, on the east coast.

Ok......so whats the deal with Super Parka? Him and the original La Parka teamed up at the Wrestle-1 show last month.

does Super Parka have face paint with the skeleton suit?

Nope, he basically wears the same outfit as the original La Parka with the Superman logo on his chest to boot. Maybe it was just a one time deal, with the W-1 show, I dunno.

Super-Parka's uniform is just like the regular Parka's; just make the black blue and the white red and then slap a Superman logo on his chest. He's bulkier than the real thing and about three times as bad.

As for him being a one-time deal, I have seen him advertised on T.V. several times. The local promotion down here holds cards almost every week and we get CMLL or AAA talent regularly.

It could be someone else using the Supersuit though, which wouldn't surprise me. There once was a Black Santo -jet black uniform instead of silver- created by the local promotion, but the orginal Santo threatened to sue if they didn't drop the gimmick.

This is probably the same guy you are talking about then, since he was noticably bulkier than the original La Parka (who teamed with him) and way worse.....slow and blew a few spots even.

Super Parka is actually related to La Parka in some way. I believe it is his youngest uncle but not sure. The original Super Parka outfit was just orange skeleton bones like La Parka's (except of course being orange) and Super Parka does all the same dancing etc. that La Parka does. Super Parka wrestles regularly in TJ and Moneterrey and he is pretty damn good if I may say so myself but he does some pretty questionable stuff...like rubbing his crotch in peoples faces, and pinching their butts. Im not sure about the way he looked in Wrestle 1 bc I have yet to see it but the Super Parka I just described is the one I saw in Monterrey earlier this year and in TJ is previous years. He hasnt been on TV very much either.

You're right, the original Super Parka is the uncle of the original La Parka. The original Super Parka was first known as Volador -green/gold mask with tassles- and was actually pretty good when he tagged with Misterioso and sometimes Angel Azteca. I remember them appearing at more or less the same time.

If the Super Parka that I have been seing is the original one, then something must have happened to him, because this one just plain sucks. Either Ramón Ibarra Banda -Volador-Super Parka- put on some muscle and slowed down A LOT, or there are other Super Parkas going around thanks to Mr. Peña.

You may be right because the Super Parka from last year in TJ is totally different than the one I have seen this year in Monterrey. The one I saw recently sucked hard and I found that odd because I thought Super Parka was damn good. Maybe there is another Super Parka going around now...I will try to find this out...
