The One and Only Awesome Commercials Thread

Recommended Posts

Guest LaParkaMarka

Yes, some commercials actually don't suck. In fact, some rocks the body that rocks the party.

In case you couldn't tell from the Topic Description, my favorite

commercial(s) right now are from Pop Tarts. The actor played Poser White Boy to absolute perfection. "Baaaaaaaam" is just too amusing.

I also really liked the Starburst commercial with the guy who, in order to impress some chick at a party, made starburst wrapper origami in his mouth. You'd probably have to see it to find it funny.

There are plenty of others, so share away.

I love the Starburst one where the girl puts the candy in her mouth and like less than a split second later has it unwrapped and is pulling the wrapper flat out of her mouth.

I loved just about any Jack in the Box commerical. I miss not seeing those anymore.

I think my current favorite commerical is easily the A+W: "So am I your man Mr. Dumass?"

The greatest commercial ever is Robert Loggia for Orange Juice, closely followed by Sammy Kershaw singing about "one hell of a yam."

The Molson Rant is a classic. And the parody ad, "I am NOT Canadian" is also great.

I'm a big fan of that Loggia commercial too.

Geico commercials rock. My favorite is the one with the guy running into the deer. Truly an LOL moment.

I also like Directv's commercials.

Hi, I'm Mike. I'm 6'4", blonde, I'm a fireman...

Most of Bud's commercials are great.

But my favorite:

I, love, playin' two hand touch

Eatin' way too much

Watchin' my team win

With the Twins

I, love, quarterbacks eatin' dirt

Pom-poms and short-skirts

Fans who won't quit

And those Twins

And I love you too!

HERE'S TO FOOTBALL!!

The GREATEST commercials EVER.

In reverse order:

2. "I'm batman" NFL Snickers commercial. "Would you like that, would you like to ride with Batman?"

1. The greatest commercial ever made: (And I only saw it once on the weather channel of all places) There's a guy on a bench in a park. EMTs run up to him and keep yelling back and forth medical terms and screaming about how they have to re-attach the apendage. The guy pushes them away and explains he is fine...and the EMTs look shocked and walk away.

Then as he sits back down a MONKEY WITH A CHAINSAW runs out of the bushes. This monkey has the most evil smile EVER. The commercial ends. I don't remember the product because I was on the floor by then, but the commercial was about being in sync.

Hilarious.

1. I don't remember the product, but it's the one where this guy picks up his date at her house. She gets in his car, and before he gets in the driver's seat, she lets loose a nasy fart, hoping he doesn't notice. He gets in, smiles at her...

... then introduces her to the couple in the back seat. The looks on their faces is priceless!

2. The IKEA ad with the abandoned desk lamp in the rain. The Eurotrash guy in the raincoat was priceless!

3. The Lee Jeans commercial with Buddy Lee versus the DJ with the unibrow and the red velour workout suit. Priceless!

Dammit, a monkey with a chainsaw? That sounds great.

Another commercial I love: the Motts Clamato one with the Ninjas and Kung Fu Figting. That was just brilliant on so many levels.

The Starburst commercial with the kid picking his date up for prom. He eats a Sour Starburst, and his face cringes at the exact time that she looks at him. Hilarity.

Hockey Falls, USA commercials (Bud Ice I think)

There's one for a computer company where this guy has the ULTIMATE office tool. Email, Fax, word processor, and about 15 other attachments.

Office guy: Does it have a port for a printer

Guy: Yep, right here

Office girl: Does it work in Europe?

Guy: Nah, you need an adaptor.

The Visa Check card one with Charlie Sheen, with him renting a bunch of his own movies and at the end the clerk goes..."This doesn't look like you"

And Martin Sheen (as aged Charlie) replies, "it did when I came in here"

Martin + Charlie Sheen = Great Stuff (Wall Street, Cadance and Hot Shots Part Duex "I loved you in Wall Street")

That was a great commercial, and Wall Street and Hot Shots kicked ass. Never saw Cadance though.

Anyways, there's a similar commercial with Kevin Bacon, where he forgets his ID but manages to connect himself to the guy behind the counter in 6 people or less, thus verifying he is who he is. Amusing stuff.

The NFL/United Way commercials where they show the players doing their charity work.

Examples:

Vinny Testaverde: They show him volunteering at a daycare center and trying to entertain the kids with magic. He screws up the magic card trick, cant make the two rings pass through each other, etc. The narrator: "Vinny is a magician...on the football field".

Luther Elliss: Kid: "Mr. Elliss got stuck in the slide again!" Elliss (stuck in the slide): "No I'm not!"

Eddie George: He's supervising a cleanup project and the kids keep slacking up. When he turns around one of the kids gives the other one this VICIOUS rake-shot to the knee. The narrator: "Slackers."

Duce Staley: He's in a classroom raising his hand for a spelling bee. When he does, he gets chrysthamemum. The kid before him had cat, and he points this out. Next he's sitting in the corner.

Kevin Carter/D'Marco Farr: At a barbecue, the serve a kid a ridiculously huge steak.

Tony Gonzalez: "Tony Gonzalez has good hands. His co-workers know this." The whole commercial is he's in a kitchen and all the workers are tossing him everything expecting him to catch it.

Kerry Collins: He's handing out food, and a guy walks away without his bread. So Kerry gets the bread roll and throws a picture-perfect pass into the basket.

I love those commercials.

Those commercials indeed rock. You forgot two great ones though.

Ed McCaffery - He's helping out at a soup kitchen, and the narrator talks about he's an overachiever. So Ed is carrying like 20 pots or whatever somewhere and he manages to drop them all and cause a total ruckus. He sorta looks around, and then points to a nun and blames it on her.

Jake Plummer - He's giving children a tour at the zoo, and they encounter the "majestic" Cardinal. Plummer says they're the best kind of bird or something, and this little girl speaks up, and says "What about Eagles? And Falcons?". Jake has these lame responses, gets all flustered, and says "Look at the little guy! He has heart!". It's great.

I love the low-cut jeans commerical for Levi's, not for any particular humor or anything, but for the cool image of the car being pushed off the pier...

AND THE MUSIC!!!! I STILL can't find the music from that commercial anywhere. It's too damn good to have just been composed for it!!!

Another commerical story, this one being rather tragic. It was Super Bowl XXXII, and Louie was plotting to kill the Budweiser frogs. The first commercial break of the game, I went to the bathroom. When I got back, my father was on the floor, telling me that the frogs had been fried. They never showed it again, and I feel my resulting bad mood caused the Packers to lose that night, in the BEST SUPER BOWL EVER, DAMMIT.

LOL, this is a great one.

And the whole family chews him out as she runs up the stairs crying, and all he can do is point to the bag of Sour Statbursts in his hand.
