Guest The Hamburglar Posted December 16, 2002 Report Posted December 16, 2002 I personally sold out at the age of three. I am now utterly manufactured and corporate. Consume me, people. Consume my corporate goodness.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted December 16, 2002 Report Posted December 16, 2002 How can music not suffer if a musician is to busy hawking shit. Well, that depends on the band and the type of music you're talking about. Metallica's music changed dramatically when they tried to appeal to a larger fanbase. Whether it was for good or bad is up for the folks at home to decide because I think it all sucks. Point is, is that it's an example of a band drastically changing their sound given a chance to make some more money. Britney Spears, on the other hand, is doing the same shit she was doing before the Pepsi commercials; brilliantly marketed pop crap. So did her music really suffer because of it? I don't think so. It's the same shit, only more people saw it.
