Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted December 14, 2002 Well, being a Redskins DIE HARD, I obviously am overjoyed at this and I think he really deserves the recognition that it is hard to recieve when the team is not that great. I think possibly Charles Woodson is the AFC equivalent, but besides him, Bailey is in a league of his own right now in only his 4th year as a pro. Thoughts? Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted December 14, 2002 I don't know who the good cover corners are. I think Bailey is good, and so is Woodson, and McKenzie but you don't hear much about CB's.
Guest phoenixrising Report post Posted December 14, 2002 Offensive line is another tough position to vote for in the Pro Bowl. It's hard to know who's missing their blocking assignments and who's doing a good job of keeping their man away from the ballcarrier. Usually if you get into one you're set, and if you're really good they give you an annual ticket (like Jonathan Ogden, who is there every year now). As for corners, same thing. I'm tempted to look at picks, but often the people with the most picks get burned a lot too while trying to get them. Charles Woodson rarely gets picks but his reciever doesn't get the ball either. Guest Bricks Report post Posted December 14, 2002 Champ Bailey is the best cover corner in the league IMO so I'm happy for him. I remember his rookie year when opponents picked on Deion Sanders because they feared Champ. Of course Deion was past his prime by then, but still. And yeah, I'm one of those guys who votes for Jonathan Ogden for the Pro Bowl. He always gets mentioned as one of the best and the guy is huge so I figure I'll believe the commentators. Plus the guy was one count away from winning the Hardcore Title
Guest jimmy no nose Report post Posted December 14, 2002 I've thought Champ Bailey was a top corner for the past 3 years, good to see him being rewarded for his efforts as top corner vote getter. There are a few other very good corners in the NFC, but for me Bailey is right at the top.
Guest DrTom Report post Posted December 14, 2002 Bailey is an excellent cover corner, and really takes the man he's covering out of the offense. He doesn't have Deion's uncanny ability to make it look like he's beaten, then spring like a coiled snake toward the ball and pick it off, but he'll get there. Just keep him away from returning punts.
