Guest Snakebyte Report post Posted December 14, 2002 Yes, as you can see from my subtitle, I am a paintball mark. I've been playing the sport for about 5 years now, 3 of which have included tournament play. I own 4 top end markers (PR term for "guns") and will post several pics shortly. I would like to use this thread to answer any and all questions regarding the sport, and would also like for all of you to share your personal experiences if you have played before. Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted December 14, 2002 Uhm... I watched you practice once? It seems like good fun, but I lack the money at the moment (money that will be used on BLACK MANTA~!) to really pursue it.
Guest redbaron51 Report post Posted December 14, 2002 I have an Angel for my gun (it was my uncle's). I'm pretty okay at it, but I've seen some of the worst paintball injuries ever (guy leaps over a fence, and gets shot right in the balls from below). I still have my ol' pumper kickin around at times
Guest red_file Report post Posted December 15, 2002 For one horrible summer, my brother, a friend of his, and I stalked each other through the swamp behind my house, each of use armed with paintball guns. In June we wore thick clothing, face masks, and helmets, as we were afraid of the pain the shots would cause. By September I was waking up in the middle of the night from nightmares where my brother would drop out of a tree wearing a skullpainted facemask, a wifebeater, and cut-off shorts. When our paintball war was ended (because the plunging temp. was turning the paintballs into paintrocks), I was covered in bruises, and finally had the faintest idea of what the term "shell shocked" actually meant. I'm sure professionally conducted paintball skirmishes are handled with a degree of decorum that makes it both more fun and safer. It's an interesting and expensive sport to be involved in; certainly less elitest sounding than Horseback riding or golf.
