Are they going to change the Mania main event?

Since they've spent so little time working on either Kane/Angle or Jericho/HHH, could they be using Triple H/Angle to build towards a three-way and give an out, so Jericho doesn't have to job but neither does Triple H. Jericho can walk out of WrestleMania as champ, and for the WWF's perspective on things, Steph could keep Triple H from winning. It's not something I'm looking forward to, but does anyone else see this as a possibility?

I could see that happening. I still don't see Jericho winning, but a 3 way is a possibility. If it turns into a 3 way, then I think Hogan & Rock would go on last.

they are not gonna change the main event for a Wrestlemania 2 weeks prior.

Didn't they add Foley and Big Show to the WM2000 main event pretty late in the going?

yes about a week before and it was a bloody stupid thing to do.

I think Foley was added a week or two before WM. The WWF gave away HHH vs. Rock vs. Big Show on Raw, then added Foley.

The main event for Wrestlemania should never be anything other that a one-on-one match, which is why I hate Wrestlemania 2000 so much. I dislike 3 way matches in general because every signle pinfall attempt is broken up by the third guy. Of course it makes no sense why the referee would stop counting as the guy getting pinned usually still has his shoulders on the mat while still being covered. The referee will also frequently slow down his count so the other guy can break it up in time.

Plus, it would take away from the Angle/Kane match that I am looking forward to oh so much.

I agree it was stupid.  Rock/HHH was the match to go with.  But it shows that they're willing to change it at the last minute.

And it did do a huge buyrate.

I don't think the WWF really cares enough about Angle-Kane to give it a good storyline.  Angle DID make mention of Kane attacking him during one of his Raw promos, so I think the match is still on.  The WWF is using Angle in the main events because he is the only other star not being used (NWO Angle, Japan, Time Off).

At this point, I really don't see how going to a 3-way in the main event could hurt.

A third man in the match would give a legitimate reason why the un-over and ring-rusted HHH should lose the match.

Angle being the third man is just begging for Kane to get involved and cost him the title.  This would be a way to further a mini-feud with Kane while chasing after the WWF title and getting a shot at Backlash.

Jericho wouldn't necessarily look any better as a champion if it took Stephanie, Kane, the nWo, Vince, and the 101st Airborne to retain the title, but the credibility he'd gain by being only the fourth champion to retain at Wrestlemania would be sizable.  (For trivia purposes, the other three are Hogan, Nash, and HHH)

As much as I'd rather see one-on-one, with all the bitching about Triple H and Jericho, they couldn't really suffer from adding Angle especially since there's no direction in anything involving the main event other than Tripel H vs. Angle right now.

angle has story with hhh, but angle-trips is becoming the angle-austin series of '02, ie. been there, done that.  also, 3 men in the main takes the lustre off being there for each guy, and angle doesnt really bring anything to the table in that match.  its probably better for him to fill up space with kane and have a watchable match (they have done it before), than have a less than stellar main event and cop any heat which may arise.  and anyway, they need all the matches they can get, as nWo wont be able to last long in the ring in their condidtion, and there have been very few matches announced, so angle and kane will probably be needed to fill out the time, even if it isnt the angle-benoit from last year...

Well it wouldn't have a true Wrestlemania feel if Kurt Angle had a match more than one week ahead of Wrestlemania!

well, he has unofficially had the match for a few weeks now, just because they havent formally announced it doesnt mean that everybody hasnt already realised he has a match.  they are just covering themselves in case something happens, its actually a pretty smart thing to do.  at this stage i would be more worried about kevin nash not having a match.

It's a shame the NWO broke up the possibilty of a

Rock vs Austin vs HHH main event at WM or even Backlash for that matter.

no shame at all, triple threats suck as main events and in general, though i am pissed that we have seemingly lost the 2 big fueds they built following mania last year (rock/austin and trips/austin), now we have to go through the buildup for those fueds *again*.

If they added Chris Jericho to the main event, wouldn't that make it a three-way?  What?  You're telling me Chris Jericho was in it all along?

hehe good point, but now that rock-hogan is the main, jericho-trips seems to be little more than a vehicle to get steph tv time.

maybe, as we all know steph = buyrate!

i can just see steph as the undisputed champion now... and knowing the wwf it will probably happen before too long as well.

Theyve screwed around with Wrestlemania and Summerslam main events right before it in the past and both were bad ideas.

Remember Chyna becoming the number 1 contender at the Minnesotta SummerSlam?

I could see it happening , but i really hope not.

I'm a firm believer that the WrestleMania title shot shoud be a one-on-one encounter.

WM 2000 would have been so much better with HHH vs Rock (and a clean ending , but I digress) main event.

I'd agree with those saying it should be one on one. I'd like to see Angle higher on the card but they'll stick with Kane.

Hopefully HGH will pedigree stephanie onto a chair or something.
