Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted December 15, 2002 I just got it today for a couple bucks, it had the View Askew name, and was put out by Lion Gates...so sounds like something I'd like. But now I'm hearing it's almost too disturbing and fucked up to watch...I'm all for that (sometimes)...but I want opinions on it here. Anyone seen it? Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted December 15, 2002 I own it too...but I've only watched the Dogma documentary. The movie itself...I have no real interest in.
Guest jimmy no nose Report post Posted December 15, 2002 The movie's not too bad, but it's not a great movie either. I liked it after watching it once, but really had no desire to see it again. If you mean "a couple bucks" as in 5 or 10 then you got a good deal. If you mean like 20 then you may be disappointed.

Guest evenflowDDT Report post Posted December 15, 2002 Eh, it's not that bad. The rape scenes were actually pretty tasteful. As tasteful as a rape scene can get anyway (I classify it as there isn't any genitalia shown and it didn't make me wince). It wasn't as good as I'd hoped though. I actually haven't seen the Dogma documentary on the DVD, though I've heard the story of how it was banned and such. Is it any good? What's in it's content that caused such a fuss? Guest red_file Report post Posted December 15, 2002 I suppose the best compliment I can make about Vulgar is that it was competently made. It's just not a very good movie, but the people who made it were obviously skilled. Wasn't Jeff Anderson supposed to direct a film?
Guest jimmy no nose Report post Posted December 15, 2002 Wasn't Jeff Anderson supposed to direct a film? Yeah, it's called Now You Know and it's been screening in major cities. I think it was being shown a lot of places in New York the past couple weeks. From what I heard it is a very good first effort.
Guest C.H.U.D. Report post Posted December 16, 2002 I thought the idea was unique and disturbing, but the overall film felt somewhat amateurish, especially the acting.
