Can you punt over 25 yards?

Seriously, the Eagles need a punter. We are having a great year, and it can all be ruined because of this Baker guy. I can't believe all of the shanks he puts up.

I'll give him this, he's very consistent. 5 out of 6 punts will be horrible, then he'll hit an average one and it looks great, since it's going more than 30 yards.

You can get away with this stuff against the Redskins; not the Bucs or Packers.

he'll be good when he's just outside field goal range

The Eagles just signed Lee Johnson. Lee F'N Johnson! Didn't he punt at Super Bowl III?

MD, are you "psychic"? Or just a Philadelphia native?...

...Andy Reid didn't waste any time making a change at punter. The Eagles announced Monday they have signed veteran Lee Johnson, who broke into the NFL in 1985 with the Houston Oilers, to replace Jason Baker...

Jason Baker had 7 punts yesterday, averaging at 33.4 yds. per punt. His longest was 44 yards.

In comparison, his opponent's punter, Craig Jarrett, had 7 punts averaging at 49.3 yds. per punt, with his long measured at 74 YARDS!

Welcome to the waivers, Jason.

What happened to Sean Landeta?

He strained his calf muscle on the last punt of the game a few weeks ago against the Rams. The team, needing a roster spot, put him on IR, so he's done for the year. Unfortunately, it now looks like he could have been back for the playoffs!!

When has Philly EVER had a decent punter?

Landetta's been awesome for the past couple of years for us (and for the past couple of decades for the entire league).

Philly native.

The one punt by Jarrett that went 74 yards is a bit misleading--he kicked into the wind, B. Mitchell let it go over his head, and then it bounced in the end zone. Still--it was a hell of a punt; much better than Baker.

And for MilleniumMan, Johnson is that old. He actually was a college teammate of Andy Reid. He was a freshman when Reid was a senior.

LOL!!! I have one of those Eagles 'Pull-a-Day' Calendars. Every day, there is a new fact/trivia question. So every day, I ask my 2 co-workers the question to see who could get it first.

So one day, the question was: Name the only 7 men to be declared on BOTH the all 1980s and 1990s teams? Well, quickly each guy had three correct answers leaving one man. The only clue they had is that it was a player and not a coach/owner/ect. Well, after approx 30 minutes of back and forth desperate guessing, one guy muttered "Sean Landeta" in a half-hearted guess. And wouldn't you know it, that was the CORRECT answer!!! By God, he's STILL PLAYING! We still have that sheet hanging above our desks.
