Gah! How many times do we have to say...DON'T INCLUDE CHOICES IN TOPICS LIKE THIS! ARRRRHRHHGHHHGHGH!

Anyway, I vote for Joe Pesci in Casino. Brutality at its finest.

It's kinda dumb to have a thread called "Greatest Ever" and only give a couple choices. What if I wanted Paul Ruben's death in Buffy the Vampire Slayer?

This this thread's been done to death already

Money on "other" to win by 100%. Other, now he knows how to die in a movie.

I was going to vote for JAmes Caan in Godfather also...

but since it already got a mention...

I vote for either Father Karras in the Exorcist (the ultimate showdown of good and evil) or Little Bill in Unforgiven...just so cool.

Since this topic has been done before, I shall choose to give a wacky selection.

My choice is Ironside (I believe he's the one) from "Transformers: The Movie".

The Decepticons, led by Megatron, hijack an Autobot shuttlecraft in preparation for an attack on Earth. The brave Autobots put up a valiant fight, but are no match to the superior might of the evil Decepticons.

Ironside bites it by eating blazing electric death from Megatron's particle beam cannon, but just before the killing stroke Megatron utters one of the coolest villain lines ever in a movie: "Such heroic nonsense."

I know what you're thinking - yeah, if I was gonna go with Transformes, I could have chosen Optimus' death, but c'mon - that didn't come with the cool line.

I've always rather liked Spock's death in The Wrath of Khan, myself.

Boromir, Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.

Beautifully directed, heartwrenchingly scripted. Probably the best "heroic" death I've ever seen.

Kevin Spacey in L.A. Confidential. Unexpected, brutual, and realistic.

When Whiteboy Bob is stealing steaks from the freezer and trips while walking up some steps in Out Of Sight and blows his head off.

Like Tom, I think Spock's death in TWOK was pretty touching. It was very noble and sad and Nimoy and Shatner did it as well as could have been expected. Perhaps their finest moments together in the movies.

More recently, I think that Satine's death in Moulin Rouge rates pretty highly up there. They made you think she had escaped it, despite warning throughout the film about it, had your hopes up and then it happens. Very, very sad.

It has to be the vampire dude in Buffy, the guy who is second in command.

That is the funniest death scene ever.

If that scene really bothers you, just pretend Boromir is HHH. They do look so much alaike that it's creepy.

SPOILERS, obviously

at least one character senselessly dies in almost every godard movie, so he's always good for a death scene. at the moment, my favorite is jean-paul belmondo's suicide in 'pierrot le fou'. he's just killed his girlfriend, and decides to wrap dynamite around his head & light the fuse. then he changes his mind and says "shit, shit, i'm an idiot!", and he blows up. funny, sad, beautiful, meaningful...all that good shit.

joe pesci in 'goodfellas'. it hit the same notes as caan's did in 'godfather', but on a grander scale.

'boys don't cry' has a pretty chilling & realistic death scene if i remember right.

kudos for remembering 'bonnie and clyde', i never remember that one.

You are a sick fuck. That's the only death in a movie, that I was stunned after they showed it.

John Travolta's death in Pulp Fiction. Just a fucking cool death scene. Jason X's body bag scene where he beats a camper in a bodybag with another camper in a bodybag, hilarious shit. Keep in mind I never saw the original body bag death scene.
