Guest Mr Monday Night Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 Is anyone else (especially the white fans) EXTREMELY pissed that the WWE has yet again stooped to a new low in making D'Lo another one of those "it's cause I'm black" types... I think its total bullshit they start doing this, I mean, if I want to hear about how black people are oppressed I'll turn on fucking BET. I say the WWE needs to stop feeding off of societies problems. By the way D'Lo, could the fact you crippled Puke have anything to do with the reason no one likes you... or the fact your a fat ass... or the fact the only good thing JR can say about this Hoss is how he has a college degree... oh the list goes on...
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 Trent Lott is holding him down...
Guest RickyChosyu Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 I knew it was bad when they started stealing from WCW, but stealing from NWA? Come on, guys. I wish D-Lo (The Truth?) Brown didn't have to always be pushed in this way.
Guest BoboBrazil Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 D'lo rules and is in the best shape he has been in since joining the WWE. He just needs a good storyline and a push.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted December 17, 2002 Report Posted December 17, 2002 I mean, if I want to hear about how black people are oppressed I'll turn on fucking BET. That's ironic, considering BET is the most rascist channel towards blacks out there. Every Black person must fit into their little stereotype, and IT'S MADE BY BLACKS. Why do they watch it? Hell, I'm white and I can grasp how wrong it is .
Guest art_vandelay Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 I knew it was bad when they started stealing from WCW, but stealing from NWA? Come on, guys. I wish D-Lo (The Truth?) Brown didn't have to always be pushed in this way. Aren't they just stealing from themselves? First, the NOD, and then the ref screw-job, which was just seen 6 months ago when it led to the formation of the Un-Americans.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 BRING BACK THE NATION those morons, releasing godfather at the worst possible time....
Guest RickyChosyu Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 More likely, they're stealing from Russo, Super Genius. They have done the race thing with Di'Lo before, though.
Guest Human Fly Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 Race storylines are generally dumb. I'm willing to overlook that for the time being because it puts D-Lo on tv and actually has him doing something. If it gets him over then why not, at least they are trying something with other talent.
Guest DawnBTVS Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 Not meant to be 'pressing the button' here but I hate this double standard crap of how if it's a black ref screwing a white wrestler over there's no racism there but when it's a white ref screwing over a black wrestler, BAM, racism totally. Ugh...Sorry, but I really hate the double standard set here.
Guest dreamer420 Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 D-Lo fucking sucks. His career has been shit ever since he botched the powerbomb that paralized Droz. He is useless now, and will never be able to get back the heat and charisma that he once had. But Shannon Moore is apparantly on the chopping block instead of this guy.
Patty O'Green Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 BRING BACK THE NATION those morons, releasing godfather at the worst possible time.... Are there even enough black guys on RAW to reform the Nation? They'd have to find some one who has charisma to play the Rock's role and D-Lo ain't it.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 I don't really want the nation back, for the record.
Guest dreamer420 Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 We don't need a Truth ripoff.
Guest Polish_Rifle Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 Will Mark Henry and Maven join the '03 Nation? As long as they are rehashing old storylines, they might as well transform The Coach into the Dr. of Style, Slick.
Guest TheArchiteck Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 Is anyone else (especially the white fans) EXTREMELY pissed that the WWE has yet again stooped to a new low in making D'Lo another one of those "it's cause I'm black" types... Alright, first of all i'm not a white male but it did make me cringe when they had D-lo play the race card. I think this type of angle shouldn't be acted out in wrestling. I think its total bullshit they start doing this, I mean, if I want to hear about how black people are oppressed I'll turn on fucking BET. I say the WWE needs to stop feeding off of societies problems. Well, from that comment I assume that you haven't tooken the time to look at BET. That station is nothing but a joke now. Nothing but comercialism bullshit a majority of the time. I used to watch it, but it's just a pile of bubblegum shows and stereotypical nonscence. I guess it's the darker tone version of MTV. I mean hell, they both are own by VIACOM now. So its not even black owned anymore. By the way D'Lo, could the fact you crippled Puke have anything to do with the reason no one likes you... or the fact your a fat ass... or the fact the only good thing JR can say about this Hoss is how he has a college degree... oh the list goes on... That's ironic, considering BET is the most rascist channel towards blacks out there. Every Black person must fit into their little stereotype, and IT'S MADE BY BLACKS. Why do they watch it? Hell, I'm white and I can grasp how wrong it is . Ok, I wouldn't take it that far now. Sure its a billboard for a lot of stereotypes. And I do feel that some producers are out their marketing those stereotypes. But some people take it as purely entertainment, not a way of life. Unfortunately some do take it as a guide to life. I've never been a big fan of D-Lo myself but come on, is it worth giving up all this animosity towards him. Sounds like you have a personal grudge against him. Not meant to be 'pressing the button' here but I hate this double standard crap of how if it's a black ref screwing a white wrestler over there's no racism there but when it's a white ref screwing over a black wrestler, BAM, racism totally. Ugh...Sorry, but I really hate the double standard set here. What are you trying to say exactly? What black ref screw job? What double standard in wrestling are you talking about? Sound like you just have it in for blacks period. Are there even enough black guys on RAW to reform the Nation? They'd have to find some one who has charisma to play the Rock's role and D-Lo ain't it. Nah its not even enough black guys in WWE as a whole to make a large enough stable. Booker T is too much of a fan favorite to get a role like that and if WWE decides to use him like that, I'll hate them forever.
Guest DerangedHermit Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 If they bring back the NATION~!, who should be in it? - D-Lo (duh) - Booker T (it's still not the most racist gimmick Book has ever had, or even the secondmost) - Mark Henry - Shelton Benjamin - Linda Miles or Jacqueline
Guest buffybeast Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 The racism angle sucks royally. It shows the lack of creativity the writers have at this point. I love D'lo and think he is very talented. But this 'racism' or 'white man holding me down' angle is just bullshit.
Guest iamsherm Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 or the fact the only good thing JR can say about this Hoss is how he has a college degree... oh the list goes on... Is it me or has this whole "hoss" hating gotten totally out of hand? I mean D'Lo is a hoss now? Give me a break. I agree on the racism thing though. Find a different program for D'Lo.

Guest deadbeater Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 A race angle is very tricky to pull off. The best gimmick with a racist theme was Col. DeBeers, which was probably one of the best gimmicks Verne Gagne created. The character did a lot to turn US and world public opinion against apartheid in South Africa. That being said, I hope that in this current angle, D'lo Brown walks up to and smack some sense in Trent Lott, and an attempted cross burning is fought back, as a reference to the recent Supreme Court case about a ban in Virginia on cross burning. Burn, Klansmen, burn! If they're are going to go with this, do it all the way. Oh, i disagree about Affirmative Action.

Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 A race angle is very tricky to pull off. The best gimmick with a racist theme was Col. DeBeers, which was probably one of the best gimmicks Verne Gagne created. The character did a lot to turn US and world public opinion against apartheid in South Africa. I hate to say it but, Col. DeBeers got a lot (okay, most) of his heat from outragous stalling rather than rascism. Sad, but true. The gimmick was WresleCrap all the way. "Verne Gagne: Humanitarian" isn kinda humorous though.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 Race angles are bad news. It wasn't good for TNA, and it won't be good here. Hell...TNA dropped the angle! If Russo drops something...it certainly isn't worth picking up! And as I said in the other thread...D-Lo doesn't have the charisma or mic skills, and won't be receiving a push anyway, to make fans ignore the angle until it goes away. TNA was somewhat lucky in that the angle ran right at the get go of the Truth's major overness. Everyone just kind of ignored that part of it until it went away. WWE will just force it until it's dead.
Guest New World Order of Wrestling Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 Goddamn, I just barfed all over my keyboard from seeing that 'seductive' picture of Lita.....YUUUK.
Guest DawnBTVS Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 ="DawnBTVS"] Not meant to be 'pressing the button' here but I hate this double standard crap of how if it's a black ref screwing a white wrestler over there's no racism there but when it's a white ref screwing over a black wrestler, BAM, racism totally. Ugh...Sorry, but I really hate the double standard set here. What are you trying to say exactly? What black ref screw job? What double standard in wrestling are you talking about? Sound like you just have it in for blacks period. What I meant was I hate the double standard of how a black person can get away with something towards a white person and nobody says racism but if it's a white person doing something towards a black person it's called racism. I just meant in general there, though I have a lot of friends who are black and am not racist at all. I just hate the US' stance on many double standards like the rich/poor deal, etc. Sorry, had to vent. As far as the whole black ref screwed white guy, that's what I'm talking bout as far as the whole double standard thing. There's never been a black screwing over a white person, yet we've had a white person screwing over blacks already 3? times in the WWE. Sorry bout the rant and I'm not racist, so don't take this the wrong way.
Guest Kamui Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 I totally see what Dawn is saying, and agree with her. It's not racist to hate the fact that, in America, if a black person does something to a white person, it's automatically not racist, but if a white person does something to a black person, it automatically is racist. Isn't that just opposite prejudice, not equality? -Duo
Guest TheArchiteck Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 Alright Dawn I see your point now. But I disagree on the double standard. Maybe at one point the double standard was strong. But the turfs are close 2 even now. If a black person says something or does something negativately towards a person of another race, you better believe that their going to be labeled a racist just like any other race. Especially during this era. Although I will say that some comedians have a "racist shield" you know? But as of late thats been fading away.
syxx2001 Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 its only like that because of history. if a white person would say "you did it because im white" a black person could come up with the whole "im a black man in america and my ancestors paid" stuff. if you want to change it, run for office. if not, theres nothing you can do but like it.
