Guest cynicalprofit Report post Posted December 18, 2002 Im addressing this to you Jim Ross, or whoever else reads the internet for the WWF. Explain to me how Steiner earned his spot to challenge HHH for the title. Who did he put over? Who did he help out? He didnt draw in WCW, yet you want him to ME cards, WHAT THE FUCK!?!?!?!?! You tell us all the time guys have to earn the top spot, so where is this magical time that Scott did it, did i blink and miss it, oh wait YOUR FUCKING FULL OF SHIT! You push who you want and thats it, just come out and say it, we all know its true, stop lying and just fucking grow some balls and say it. Explain to me JR, what in the unholy fuck Steiner did to earn his spot. He was a WCW superstar, I dont see how that gives him the right to challenge HHH for the title. I can see why Hogan Hall and Nash got ME spots, the nWo did draw money at one time, but Steiner never did. Steiner was WCW champ and it didnt help WCW at all. The only good thing he ever did for the business is drop the belt to Booker T, at the last Nitro conviently enough. And Since Booker T already beat him, shouldnt that put him above Steiner in terms of title shots? I understand that he probably wont last a year and it is a good idea to get your buck from his ASAP, but you defy your own logic by pushing him when he did ABSOLUTELY FUCKING NOTHING to earn his spot. What did he do? He beat up Matt Hardy and Chris Noballsortalentisk, called Steph a skank or something, i wasnt watching, and had a 20 minute interview with HHH saying he's gonna kick his ass. So where did he earn this ME spot? Im looking but Im not finding it. In 3 years or is it 2, Angle has done more for this sport and your company then Steiner has in the 10+ he's been in the industry. You and the rest of the company are so full of shit, its not even funny. You no longer have any idea about how to use talent. Have Steiner job to just about anyone, make them a superstar, watch Seiner fuck himself over, fire him, and you have a talent now worth more money, and you got a better use from Steiner then having him job to HHH who is already a superstar, supposedly. So JR, how the fuck did Scott Steiner earn his spot? I dont know people, I was just thinking about this today and it just pisses me off royally. Excuse any spelling mistakes, I no longer have ms word.
Paul Stanley 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2002 Uh, i don't think Angle has done more than Steiner. And plus, you know the WWE does this with people..so stop bitching and get over it.
ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2002 It's simple... They're trying to get a push out of Steiner before Steiner gets his career ending injury. Plus, there's pretty much no one right now left that they can feed to HHH.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted December 18, 2002 well your living up to your name there 1. Name recognation - marks know who Steiner is 2. Body type - he has muscles on top of muscles, classic body builder monster 3. Age and injury prone - they need to get all they can out of Steiner before he hurts his back or tears quad Scott Steiner has done alot for Pro Wrestling as a tag team wrestler everywhere he went. As the monster Big Poppa Pump Scott has put fear in the eyes of marks as you never know when he is going to snap, he has a train wreck or LAPD car chase facination which always get him attention. Scott is famous for the Frankensteiner and Screw Driver.
Guest crandamaniac Report post Posted December 18, 2002 See, the problem with CP's post is that he's trying to make logical sense out of something that really doesn't make sense at all. Keep in mind that this is the same Wrestling company that had one of it's previous champions get beat by a raver with blacklight makeup before he went on to beat an unstoppable monster. Steiner hasn't done anything to earn his spot, if you think about it, but that's exactly what the WWE doesn't want you to do. Just accept it, and buy the PPV. Guest bob_barron Report post Posted December 18, 2002 Actually Steiner as champ boosted Nitro's ratings a bit and towards the end according to the Torch he was always a draw on Nitro. Steiner is getting this push cause he is over and has name value and well- Why sign him just to put him in the midcard?
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted December 18, 2002 Steiner can flex and pump and offers a foil for HHH. I believe that meets Mcmahons criteria for a superstar.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted December 18, 2002 Oh... Yes, the WWF's priorities are fucked up. Austin Goldberg Hart Rock Those four guys are the only ones who could really pop a rating. And only one can sustain it (Hart - not because he is a draw, but EVERYONE knows about the SS97 incident and would watch just to see what happens.).
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted December 18, 2002 He's roided up...sounds like an idiot on the mic and has a speech impediment...he pulled some politics (threatening to beat the shit out of writers and backstage staff still counts)...he was in the nWo. Yeah, that sounds about right for qualifications.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted December 18, 2002 Well lets look at the options for the title match at Royal Rumble then. Option A - Steiner vs HHH with lots of buildup, probably one of the matches that everyone wants to see because it's never happened before. Option B - HHH vs HBK part 3, which has happened in some form or another in 3 of the last 5 PPVs. Option C - HHH vs RVD, even though RVD wasn't even on the Armageddon PPV, and has been stuck in midcard doing a bunch of nothing recently. Would only be good if RVD wins, since just having HHH wrestle RVD and beat him again is pretty old hat by now. Hmm. I don't have a problem with HHH vs Steiner. Guest midnight_burn Report post Posted December 18, 2002 What did most of the people the WWE pushes these days do to earn their spot? Steiner's as good a choice as anyone to go against Triple H, i sure as hell don't want to see HHH/HBK part 6 or whatever, and Steiner's better than Jericho or RVD losing to God once again. Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted December 18, 2002 The storyline thus far has been nearly perfect under the circumstances. However the match will be one big train wreck and not in the way the WWF wants.
Guest DJ Jeff Report post Posted December 18, 2002 I'm looking forward to seeing Steiner vs. HHH. It's something we haven't seen before, and it's a match alot of fans have wanted to see, including myself. So, come the Royal Rumble, there will be at least one person that will be watching that match....ME. As for what Steiner has done to earn the shot, well, he did nothing in the WWE. That shouldn't come as a shock, since the WWE likes to push the big guys.
Guest cynicalprofit Report post Posted December 18, 2002 Steiner hasnt had a good match since what, 94. Triple has only been able to pull out good matches is because yes, shawn the worker is that good. Against a guy who is just as roided as he is, its gonna be a lousy match plain and simple. Unless of course a shoot breaks out and steiner pummples him.....ok im polling that one.
Guest deadbeater Report post Posted December 18, 2002 At the royal rumble, Scott shaves his chin and performs like it was 1992. Or maybe not.

We don't know if he's better, or even worse off physically now then he was then, though.
Guest raptor Report post Posted December 18, 2002 This is the easiet question, ever: He's a HOSS dammit. Plus, they paid him good money and should get as much as they can from him before his health deteriorates even more.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted December 18, 2002 Reports coming from house shows is that Steiners matches have been terrible.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted December 18, 2002 He faced B2 for one of them so take it with a grain of salt
Guest The Metal Maniac Report post Posted December 18, 2002 Scott is famous for the Frankensteiner and Screw Driver. Too bad he replaced both moves with his ever famous "I-know-it-doesn't-look-painful-at-all-but-please-sell-I'm-so-blown-up" Chinlock.
Guest Army Eye Report post Posted December 18, 2002 And 'earning your spot' please.. that is such garbage. If you think a guy will draw in the main event in his first day in the company, you put him there. Whether you think Steiner is the right choice is another debate, but to pull any bullshit just because he hasn't earned it is quite ridiculous. I think it's a fine choice for the Raw main event. The part on Raw where HHH took off his jacket and it looked like he and Steiner would come to blows got a damn good pop. When was the last time a Raw crowd was that excited about anything? Guest HHH's 'Roid Needle Report post Posted December 18, 2002 Did somebody say ROID? What did Steiner do to earn his spot? Easy. He made Vince pop woodage. He stuck a needle in his ass, Vince grows a third leg, and he gets The Jesus Push.
Guest cynicalprofit Report post Posted December 18, 2002 But why not instead, use him to move someone up the card who isnt as messed up as he is. Matt Hardy would be great, Angle could probably drag a good amtch out of him, Edge would become a ME player, RvD would have "earned" his spot to challenge for the title. Booker T too. This guy is only good for what maybe 3 shots tops. Use him to make someone already in the company, who isnt as messed up, worth more.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted December 18, 2002 What's the point of threads like this. We know there are more deserving people than Steiner but Vince isn't going to change is mind, This is all fallling on death ears.
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted December 18, 2002 matt hardy was already destroyed, including a partner, by steiner on his debut, cynicalprofit. If steiner wins, great, i hate him slightly less than hhh.
Guest Rob Edwards Report post Posted December 18, 2002 well rather Steiner than TBS I guess, Scotty has a marketable look and was only hired as a short term solution so Vince is pushing him while he can and I can't say I blame him
Guest mach7 Report post Posted December 18, 2002 You ask this question as if the RAW title even means anything.. Who cares how Steiner got this "spot" and is getting a shot at a meaningless vanity belt..
Guest Goodear Report post Posted December 18, 2002 Sign Scott Steiner to put over Matt Hardy... hmmm. Nah, it's too easy to make fun of that idea. No one 'earns' anything. Everyone gets pushed based on whether or not the company thinks they would make money off of that wrestler being at the top of the card. Nothing more, nothing less. Guest humongous2002 Report post Posted December 18, 2002 Lets all remember that pro-wrestling is a work, and nobody earns a title shot by paying their dues, that's only a line that HGH uses so that his marks would believe that he has work hard to be on top(lol), if Vince likes you and you look like a roided up big freak he will give you the belt and build the company around you.It doesn't matter if you suck ass in the ring, you are green as grass or don't have any promo skills whatsoever, if he hears a couple of marks popping for you he will make you into a superstar, if you are a small guy you are SOL.
