Guest EternallyLazy Report post Posted December 19, 2002 Yes, Angle IS the future of the company. You're making it sound like they're going to stop using him after Mania. The future main event scene will revolve around Brock, Angle, Edge, and maybe if we're lucky Eddie and Benoit. If Angle is sent back to the midcard after Mania so be it. He'll rise to the top again. Is it right? Maybe not, but that's how it works. Angle will always remain a main event/upper mid card player, and that is alright with me. Brock won't stay on top forever. We're long past the days of Hulk Hogan and his 4 year title run. It honestly wouldn't suprise me if the title in the next few years is passed around from Brock to Edge to Angle etc... I just don't think you should have the "push my guy above everyone else at all costs" attitude
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted December 19, 2002 You're making it sound like they're going to stop using him after Mania. Well, it's what they always do after Angle has one main event feud.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted December 19, 2002 Edge has no world title reigns and Angle has ... what? .... Three or four now? I said, the Edge pushed stalled. But don't EVER mention Angle's ttile reigns as a way they are pushing him. There was the pussy loser reign, and then the useless loser reign, and now another pussy loser reign. WOW! Hmmm how long has Angle been in the business? Last time I checked, only a few years. How long did it take Austin to make it to the very top and stay there? He had some one time main event runs in WCW as well. Mick Foley? He had a run with Sting and was sent back to the midcard as well. In 2 years if Angle is still being used as a mid card catalyst, then you know what? You will have a right to complain. And I'll be right beside you doing it

In Angle first reign he was a heel... a sneaky heel. He's supposed to cheat all of the time. He wasn't a "pussy loser" because he held the title for nearly 6 months and won. He won by cheating yes, but hellooooooo? He was a heel. As for this title reign... it's amazing how the Smackdown after his title win hasn't even aired yet and you're already calling the reign a failure. Sometimes it's okay to be a cynic but how much is overkill?
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted December 19, 2002 Hmmmmmmm this is odd- From Meltz- Tonight's Smackdown line-up: *Chuck Palumbo vs. John Cena *Billy Kidman vs. Eddy Guerrero non-title *Bill DeMott & Crash Holly vs. Jamie Noble & Cousin Nunzio *Brock Lesnar vs. Shannon Moore *Edge vs. A-Train *Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit non-title Not sure the story about this, but someone who saw the feed that WWE sent to UPN last night said that they edited the Angle injury angle off the show. Not sure what this was all about.
Guest nikowwf Report post Posted December 19, 2002 That's weird....leaving that off would leave Angle having squashed Brock and Benoit, which leads to what? ill go with that this is just a weird quirk and we see it tonight niko

I didn't know that all heels had imposters hide under the ring anf win matches for them. I must have missed everyone but FRIGGING DOINK doing it.

Guest bob_barron Report post Posted December 19, 2002 I didn't mind Real Man's Man. He got to wrestle for the title in the tournament at SurS98. Too bad XPac ruined it.

Yes, that was stupid and I hated it then as well... but that only happened to Angle once... once (to steal a line from Johnny Dangerously)
Guest Brian Report post Posted December 19, 2002 I wouldn't be surprised if after Mania Angle turns on Heyman. The way they've been teasing the Angle face turn seems like the whole Rock situation in 1998, with them building back to Brock/Angle as a face vs. face, with Angle coming in as the inderdog and Brock still having his unstoppable aura around him, at SummerSlam over the title. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted December 19, 2002 Yes, that was stupid and I hated it then as well... but that only happened to Angle once... once (to steal a line from Johnny Dangerously) And then there was the Rumble fiasco. Austin had to kill HHH for three minutes to get an Angle win. In fact, the only PPV match in that title reign where Angle looked good was No Way Out. Come to think of it, No Mercy wasn't bad either. He won that match as a heel cleaner than this Big Show match as a face.
