Guest kingkamala Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 I've heard a few people on this board and other assorted wrestling boards say that some of there teachers were wrestling marks. I've only had one and it was my fifth grade science teacher Mr. J(Back in 98/99), I always thought Mr. J was one cool mofo since he was a mascot for the local AA baseball team during the summer months. Anyway occasionally he'd mention Scott Taylor(Scott Taylor lives about 15 minutes from my house) and he mentioned Mick Foley and The Rock a lot. Mr. J also made fun of WCW once with a decent impression of Randy Savage. Other then that the only mentions of wrestling in school by teachers are; that stuff is fake or a brief mention about either Scott Taylor, The Rock or Hulk Hogan.
Ultimo Dugas Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 I once had a teacher that would often do the Buff Bagwell arms-flailing-into-pose thing. He used to buy tapes of the PPV's from a friend of mine.
Guest HartFan86 Posted December 18, 2002 Report Posted December 18, 2002 I had a health teacher in 8th grade who would watch Raw in 2000 or so. He'd used to ask us what happened (when he didn't watch it) and we would talk about it at times. He once had my friend do the Worm in his class. Funny stuff.
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 Me and my friend used to talk to our grade 12 journalism teacher about wrestling all the time. This was during the high points of the attitude era, but he always preferred to talk about the mid to late 80s. Probably still does.
Guest dreamer420 Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 In my Media class I was allowed to watch the replay of Raw on tuesdays (when TSN aired it) because he was a fan.
Guest papacita Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 My French teacher a few weeks back. It was the most random thing. He's from Haiti and has a thick accent, and lately he's been going off on random rants about romance, life lessibs and shit like that. So this one day, he comes outta nowhere with "French is a lot like wrestling...if you don't speak, you will never do good...because wrestlers...they can wrestle...but they don't do good unless they speak...right?!" I'm still in shock about that. Also, back in 8th Grade, my history teacher followed wrestling. The day after the Raw where Austin attacked Bret inside the ambulance, we were all standing around talking about it, so he walks up to us like "Well you know what they say: Raw is War!" Then just walks off.
Guest deadbeater Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 My sixth grade teacher intoduced me to the world of Bill Apter journalism. Bless his soul.
Guest Lord of The Curry Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 I managed to expose my writers craft teacher last year as being a wresling fan, as I did a story about it and while reading it I heard him mention Shane and Vince feuding and he then asked me if the Undertaker was still carrying an urn with him.
Guest Will Scarlet Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 My 9th grade History teacher loved wrestling. Heck, one time I was wearing a DX shirt, and he did a crotch chop. Too bad he did not know anything about history though. He butchered Roman and English history to levels I did not think were possible for a high school teacher to do. Luckily, he was moved to being the Dean of Students, ironically, his name was Mr. Dean.
Guest Jack Tunney Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 None of my grade school teachers were ever interested in my Royal Rumble-style spelling bee ideas. But that's life.......
Guest El Luchadore Magnifico Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 My Math teacher used to be a big Freebirds fan...
Guest crandamaniac Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 Had a teacher in high school, Coach Walser, and I remember him telling the class a story about going to the bathroom at some place, and seeing Arn and Ole Anderson in there, and then Ric Flair walked in, went to the sink, wet his hands, slicked back his hair, yelled "WOOOO!" and walked away.
Guest Choken One Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 My wife is one of the more popular at her school because She often talks about it during her Calc. classes.
Guest Mattdotcom Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 My US History teacher, who we'll just call Mr. Jones (since that was his name) would often quote The Rock and Austin. "And England was in debt for millions.....and MILLIONS of dollars." "King James was gonna lay the smack down on that candy colony." "And that's the bottom line, 'cause Stone Jones said so."
Guest William E Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 When I was in Junior High I had a computer teacher who would always ask us what happened on monday nights whenever he missed the shows (this was during the hieght of the monday night wars) . He was a big NWO fan and sometimes he would almost forget about teaching from discussing wrestling since the majority of the class were wrestling fans.
Guest bob_barron Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 Freshman year this student teacher went to Summerslam 98 and we were in awe of how cool that was
Guest The Notorious CRD Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 In high school I had several classes with the man everyone called "Doc" Anderson and he was a huge wrestling fan. I took Biology, Anatomy/Physiology, and Botany with the man and I swear I learned more about wrestling in those classes than I did about the sciences.
