Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted December 22, 2002 From blabbermouth.net OZZY OSBOURNE To Duet With KYLIE MINOGUE - Dec. 20, 2002 Ozzy Osbourne is set to duet with Australian pop singer Kylie Minogue on an upcoming episode of "The Osbournes". The pop princess and rock wildman plan to sing "Especially For You" — which Kylie first sang with Jason Donovan in 1989. The appearance is the brainchild of Osbourne's daughter Kelly, who became friends with the petite Australian performer on the Jingle Tour of America earlier this month. "The whole family are massive Kylie fans and she's rapidly making a name for herself in the US, so everyone's really keen to see this happen," a television source told British newspaper The Daily Star. Kylie and Jason's duet came when they appeared together on TV soap "Neighbours". ... .... ....
Guest Will Scarlet Report post Posted December 22, 2002 Kylie is not all that bad. I mean, it is not like he is doing a duet with like, say, Britney Spears, or something.
Guest red_file Report post Posted December 22, 2002 Kylie is not all that bad. I mean, it is not like he is doing a duet with like, say, Britney Spears, or something. And if he was? In the 80s he did a duet with Miss Piggy on the Muppet Show, "Born to be Wild." I think The Osbournes show what Ozzy has become. A sweet, doddering old man who doesn't really know where he is most of the time. It's funny and more than a little sad. But his music career is for the most part over. When it ended is arguable. You could point to getting kicked out of Sabbath, when Randy Rhodes died, or sometime after Ozzmosis when he seemed to just lose his mind. Is this any worse than Bowie and Jagger singing "Dancin in the Streets?"

Guest Will Scarlet Report post Posted December 22, 2002 And if he was? Then, I would find it weird, yet strangely entertaining. I think The Osbournes show what Ozzy has become. A sweet, doddering old man who doesn't really know where he is most of the time. It's funny and more than a little sad. But his music career is for the most part over. When it ended is arguable. I think that sums it rather perfectly
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted December 22, 2002 The last time I saw him on Jay Leno, he looked really bad. All shaky and shit.

Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted December 22, 2002 Who cares what he does, as long as he still kicks Ass in Concert.
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted December 22, 2002 I think Ozzy's days of kicking ass in concert are long behind him. He looks positively wretched in all the recent live footage I've seen.
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted December 22, 2002 I'd be interested in hearing this. I assume that Kylie Minogue is a singer who actually sings, while Ozzy is a braindead old man who sort of mumbles through all of his songs these days. It's going to be considerably worse than his duet with Lita Ford, I'm sure. But will it match his daughter's contribution to the world of recorded music, in terms of sheer mediocrity? Guest Incandenza Report post Posted December 22, 2002 This won't hold a candle to "Where the Wild Roses Grow," Nick Cave's duet with Kylie. But that goes without saying.
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted December 22, 2002 I own that album and I've never gotten far enough along to hear it. Nick Cave doesn't do anything for me. Now, if Nick Cave dueted with Ozzy...that would probably still suck.
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted December 22, 2002 Is the skip button busted on your CD player?
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted December 22, 2002 Not last I checked, no. I've just never had any desire to listen to it. I could never get past all of the over-the-top stuff on the first two tracks about killing and fucking and Stagger Lee, so I had little hope for the remainder of the disc. I'll give it a spin later for the Kylie duet. Probably.
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted December 22, 2002 Over-the-top? That's fucking poetry, man.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted December 23, 2002 Nick Cave owns. He's more morbid than half of the death bands out there today. I've seen Ozzy live a few times, twice solo, and once with Black Sabbath. The Sabbath show was a fucking religious experience, and the other two times were decent, but he should really hang it up. All of his recent studio material has been really, really, REALLY awful.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted December 23, 2002 Is this any worse than Bowie and Jagger singing "Dancin in the Streets?" Actually it would be if Ozzy wasn't a joke at this point. At the time of "Dancin In The Streets" Bowie and the Rolling Stones were basically doing the same type of music. Ozzy and Kylie aren't doing similar types of music. Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted December 28, 2002 Poor Ozzy. Let the man sit around the house and call it a career. I don't need another Ozzy album. I don't need another Ozzfest. I don't need more of the Osbournes. Let the poor feeble old man enjoy a retirement, where he can sit around all day, watch the History channel and relax, for fuck's sake. Guest Sassquatch Report post Posted December 28, 2002 The "Osbournes" is not easy for me to watch only because I was a huge Ozzy fan while I was growing up and it pains me to see this vegetable of a blathering old man shaking up and down wherever he might go. This duet with Kylie is pretty odd in itself but at this point Ozzy is more like a special attraction instead of a legitimate act that is meant to be taken seriously. Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted December 28, 2002 I can't watch the Osbournes cause his kids are little bastards. They came out a while ago and said many of the scenes were rehersed before hand
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted December 28, 2002 I hate those kids. I'll forever love their parents though. He should probably quit, but i'd still love to see him live. As for the studio stuff, it was never all that great apart from the first two albums. I like it all though.
Guest J*ingus Report post Posted December 29, 2002 Holy crap, that was Minogue on Wild Roses? I never knew. Wow... and it was actually, like, sung well, not like all the autotuned semi-electronica stuff I've heard out of her. And Kinetic, the album is called Murder Ballads after all, every single song is about some horrific crime or another. Stagger Lee is probably the worst track, IMO. Guest Incandenza Report post Posted December 29, 2002 I hope Kinetic hasn't judged Cave soley on Murder Ballads, which, if you're a Nick newbie, is quite possibly the worst place to start. I like the album, but I think I'm able to enjoy it more within the context of the man's career, rather than as a single album. And yeah, Kylie can actually sing, but she rarely gets the chance elsewhere.
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted December 29, 2002 I also have The Boatman's Call and find it to be a pretty tedious listen. I tried listening to it again last week, actually, and it still bores me to tears.
