The Split Draft

Recommended Posts

Guest converge241

Vince and flair have a Royal rumble rematch on raw for ownership of the company cause they cant co-exist. the match ends in a no-contest and Linda declares the company will eb split and they will have a draft on Saturday April 20th on Excess. vince gets first pick and gets to pick the show he wants having built the company and he chooses Raw, flair gets Smackdown

---I would have the draft on 0420 due to it being on the same weekend of the NFL Draft. The synergy cant hurt and a lot of football fans might be in the mood to give it a try.

---during all the hype for the draft I would still announce matches for Backlash under the "one company" guidelines, and sell it as the last time you will see all the superstars competing against each other (for a while at least) because the new rosters will go into effect on 042202 on vince's Raw.

the draft wil have happened by the time the PPV airs so if Rock and Austin are booked against each other at backlash, for example, they can further hype it on Heat for more buys.

Leading up to the draft everyone specualtes who will be taken on commentary during the shows. Flair comes out and admits that he will not take the NWO, he wants nothing to do with them. Vince says that its fine with him hell take the NWO. the announcers really push the idea that vince's first 3 picks will be Hall, Nash, and Hogan.

On draft night itself (taped in an empty arena before Smackdown on tuesday april 16th) vince shocks everyone by taking Austin explaining he wants to make sure he continues to make Austin's life a living hell and willt ake the NWO later. (the owners would have the mics making selections and cut promos, on Excess they would have a little video recap on the wreslter). Flair takes rock and you go down the roster etc. etc.

--- i didnt really have the time to write where i would put every individual wrestler just wanted to get the basic ideas down.

Once the shows are up and running when its time for a new guy to be called up or a new signing have them do vignettes on both shows and both owners will try to outbid each other for the prospect to join "their company"

---would be the best way to introduce, or re-introduce, someone.

just basic ideas ill try to include the full draft in a later post on the same thread.
