The following are highlights from Xtreme Mayhem's interview with current NWA TNA X-Division champion Sonny Siaki. The interview was conducted by Mike Nagel and Jeff Meacham on December 19th, 2002. Visit The xM Website (xtreme.mayhem.com) to listen to the streaming audio or downloadable version of the interview!

Vince Russo

Siaki said that Russo has done nothing by help him out. From promo work to being behind the scenes, Siaki has learned a lot from Russo. Siaki said that Russo was writing the storylines when WWF was at their best. He said that Russo has lots of crazy ideas.

Jerry Lynn:

Siaki said that there is nobody better in the ring than Lynn, and he has learned a lot from Lynn. Siaki said that Lynn works like he is one of the young guys. He said that WWE messed up by letting Lynn go, and he wonders why some people in WWE have a job there instead of Lynn.

Wednesday's Match:

Siaki said that three-way matches are always tougher than one-on-one, and Jerry Lynn came up with most of the ideas for the match. Siaki was impressed with EZ Money since the guy is pretty big, yet he can wrestle the high-flying style.

World Championship Wrestling:

Siaki said his time in WCW was miserable. He only made a few appearances on Nitro and Thunder, and spent most of his time on Saturday Night since nobody knew what to do with him. He had worked at the Power Plant five days a week from 9AM to 5PM. Siaki ended up quitting WCW and tried to join WWE. When he left WCW, he was happy to be gone.

Amazing Red:

Siaki said there was no comparison between Red and Rey Mysterio, because Red would blow Mysterio right out of the water. He called Red the most exciting guy in TNA. He said that Mysterio stole some moves from Red, which is why Red stole the 619 from Mysterio.

WWE Wrestlers:

Siaki said he would like to work with The Rock, HHH, and Kurt Angle. Siaki said that he often trains with Chris Benoit in Atlanta. He said that he would rather be in TNA right now because the WWE locker room is filled with egos, and the people in the TNA locker room want to help each other out. The Road Warriors told Jerry Jarrett that the locker room had the best atmosphere they've seen.

Getting Into The Business:

Siaki grew up watching the old-school NWA with guys like Dusty Rhodes. He didn't start watching WWE until 1998 when they got big. Siaki said that he went to the same college as Lodi. He wanted to become a professional football player, but he suffered an injury that cut his career short. Lodi, who was involved with The Flock at the time, suggested that Siaki get involved with wrestling. Siaki went to the power plant tryout and twenty-three people were part of his group. Only him, Mark Jindrak, Chuck Palumbo, and Alan Funk made it. Siaki quit a few months before the Natural Born Thillers were formed.

His Matches:

Siaki said that his wrestling style is more similar to guys like Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle instead of the high-flying style. He goal is to go out there and tell a good story, and have a match with good ring psychology.

His Future:

Siaki only sees himself in the wrestling business about five more years, because he wants to be able to walk when he's older. He wants to do commercials and movies, and possible become a road agent. He hopes to settle down and start a family someday.

Vince McMahon:

One word: Money.

Roddy Piper:

Skirt.

Goldberg:

Tough man.

Hulk Hogan:

Was the man back then, and still the man now.

Paul Orndorff:

Stubborn old man.

Ric Flair:

Great promos, but he doesn't think Flair can work in the ring anymore. He called Flair 100 years old and said Flair should keep his clothes on. Siaki doesn't think that bringing back the Horsemen will work, because it's already been done and it's time to do something new.

Eric Bischoff:

Kids skip this part: Siaki said Bischoff is a dick. Bischoff would suck up to the older guys and he would look at the younger guys and say, "Who the f**k are you?"

Does he actually watch the tapes of his matches?

The Road Warriors told Jerry Jarrett that the locker room had the best atmosphere they've seen.

If this is true then it is one of the best quotes I have ever read.
