Report post Posted December 23, 2002 From puroresufan.com/njpw: New Japan held a press conference at the Akasaka Prince Hotel at 6pm to formalize the match and mystery partner announced for 1/4 today. Director Uei, Hiroyoshi Tenzan, and Manabu Nakanishi were in attendance. Uei said that X had been set as Michiyoshi Ohara at Shinsuke Nakamura's direct request today. Both Ohara and Nakamura are returning from absences, Ohara from his trip into the MMA world, and Nakamura from his extended stay at New Japan's Los Angeles dojo, where he trained with Antonio Inoki and others. This will be just Nakamura's second pro wrestling match, and like the first, "Super Rookie" will find himself in a high profile match. After that, he will most likely return to tours, and we will get to see this awesome young prospect go at it with other New Japan wrestlers. Tenzan took the microphone, oozing joy at his coup. Tenzan said that Chono had given him matchmaking power for the Tokyo Dome show, and Tenzan had called Kojima to try and reform their team for one night. Kojima replied, saying he would form the legendary tag TenKoji tag team in "limited edition" form, meaning one night only. Tenzan said he appreciated Keiji Muto's decision for letting Kojima work the show, and expressed his gratitude to his former nWo Japan leader and current All Japan president. Tenzan's voice shook in emotion as his made the announcement that his sworn friend would return to New Japan for "WRESTLING WORLD 2003" on January 4th. Tenzan talked about why he had personally booked Chono and Nakanishi as TenKoji's opponents. Chono was put in the match by Kojima's request, as he wants to show off his new knowledge and ability to Tenzan and Kojima's "Godfather". Nakanishi was Tenzan's choice, as he wanted someone of his and Kojima's generation to be in the match. Tenzan commented on how TenKoji "grew up" in the Tokyo Dome, and indeed their first high profile match together after Kojima joined nWo Japan in late 1998, was their IWGP Tag Team Title victory against Genichiro Tenryu & Shiro Koshinaka in that building on 1/4/99. Mate, for future reference, message boards exist for discussion, not just news, if you're going to re-print news pieces, impart your own opinion with it to start a discussion, or don't do it.
