Guest Downhome Report post Posted December 23, 2002 A, *ahem*, picture I don't want there as a choice of a background has been placed there, and I want it gone. Thank ye, fools.
Guest bravesfan Report post Posted December 23, 2002 Is it entitled "Internet Explorer Wallpaper"? If so, first basic suggestion is, use your web browser and "Save as desktop background" a new entirely "clean" picture. It should save that new picture over it. If that doesn't work, post a reply here. EDIT: All of the optioned pictures should be in the Windows directory. Click on your main drive ("C", for most people), then click on the folder titled "WINDOWS". All of the background files should be there. Find yours and delete it. The first one, I don't understand what you mean. I just know that I right click on desk top, go to properties, and then click the desktop tab. Then it says background, and has a list of pictures, most of which are ones that came on the computer. I don't know how this other one got on that list, so I'm confused. I tried to go to my Windows folder, but the only one I saw, I saw nothing that said backgrounds in it at all.
Guest DrTom Report post Posted December 23, 2002 If you're running WinXP, the pictures you can choose for your wallpaper are in the My Pictures folder, a subfolder of My Documents. In the 9X releases of Windows, they're in the c:\windows folder, and looking for common picture extensions (usually .bmp, but if you added them, it could be .jpg or .gif) should find them. Guest The Electrifyer Report post Posted December 23, 2002 Go into your Windows folder, sort by type and every .BMP file there usually is included in your backgrounds in your display properties. There should be a file called Internet Explorer Wallpaper.bmp or something like that which may be your "picture". Also, the files in your folder C:\\My Documents\My Pictures are also included in your backgrounds, so the pic your looking for could be in there.

I don't know which Windows you are using, but on mine, you can see a thumbnail of the would be background whilst selecting one, once you find it, right click and delete.
