Austin, McMahon have heated disagreement

Recommended Posts

Guest oldschoolwrestling

Steve Austin and Vince McMahon apparently had a public disagreement backstage at RAW this past Monday. The disagreement, which became very "animated," apparently had to do with how an angle was set to go. Word is that Steve Austin got his way in the end.

Maybe it was about which knee he should tape up? Hmmmmm...........

Hmm.  What could the disagreement have been, because it sure seems like Austin took one for the team on Raw.  He took a major beatdown and 'bled like a stuck pig'.

Maybe the original plan was for Austin to get stretchered out, but Austin wanted to walk out under his own power?

Or else it was something about a future angle?

Wow, a real Austin vs. McMahon.  Maybe Austin will do us all a favor and kick his ass for screwing up InVasion.

Funny how HHH is making a title run as Austin, Rock and Jericho are all being neutralized both on and off screen while his Clique friends and Hogan are filling all the TV time. Just saying, that's all.

And the most recent rumors I've heard have XPac being pushed by Steph/HHH to join the NWO.

And Shawn Michaels is rumored to be appearing at Smackdown.

Both Klique members. What next, Aldo Montoyo gets a push?

You'd think that Vince would have learned from the last time.

HA.

Vince learn!

HA!

I wish he had.

The Kliq years were the worst for the WWF business wise.  Remember 95?  Then half the Kliq left and managed to hurt the WWF even more!  Remember 96?

It took the elavation of all new blood to get back on top.  Rock and Austin anyone?

The Clique is the single worst thing to ever happen to professional wrestling.  And no, I am not forgetting about Vince Russo.

It's so strange for Vince and Austin to have any heat at all considering the way that Vince had a reputation as "an Austin mark" just a few months ago.

I am doing this so hesitantly. I hate conspiracy theories. I really, really do.

But Austin's a lame duck stuck in a feud he doesn't want to be a part of. Rock gets to put all the NWO guys over by being sidelined and will probably job to Hogan at Wrestlemania. Chris Jericho is a total non-factor even though he's the champion. Kurt Angle is a jobber to the stars. Booker T is a jobber to the stars. RVD is getting pops edited off of TV while being kept in the midcard. In the meantime ...

Hulk Hogan is being positioned in a match with the Rock. Scott Hall makes an ass of himself his very first night backstage and is punished by being given an upper-card match against Steve Austin at Wrestlemania. Kevin Nash's knees are so bummed he can't even train properly and he's making more money than most of the roster without having to take bumps or even draw ratings or buyrates. X-Pac is coming back and the guy being pushed as the #1 babyface (whether he is or not) and his girlfriend (who's also the head writer and the boss's daughter) are lobbying for him to join the NWO. Shawn Michaels is rumored to be returning to TV TONIGHT!

This looks incredibly suspicious.

doesnt the Vince - Austin relationship seem to go through these swings all the time?

I mean at least on the internet and sheets.

theyre buddy and buddy and Vince is marking out for Austin and deeply involved with his storylines, and then they have heat over something?

i think ive seen this flip flop a few times over the years.

then again the latest source on this is 1Wrestling, which is a crapshoot.

The WWF could start blowing up in front of everybody just like WCW did. The more unhappy guys get, the more backstage news will probably leak out.

Vince learning is a funny one. I bet if it wasn't for Bischoff and Nitro we would still have clowns and roosters in the wwf. Writing that sounds funny. For everyone who rips Russo I really wonder how the wwf would have Attitude written without him. Yes, this whole thing smells fishy. Esepcially with Stephanie booking with her boyfriend being a Kliq member. If they can neutralize Rock and Austin as L4W said the maggots will eat the federation.

Part of me wants to see the WWF self-destruct.  It would be fun hear about all the backstage stuff, because when things are running smooth, we don't here about all the backstage backstabbing.  And if the WWF bottoms out, Vince will have to do something drastic to survive, and that could be a good thing.

Of course, if this avalanche of crap buries the WWF, who's left?  WWA?  A joke.  XWF?  Geezerfest 2k2.  Ring of Honor?  Seems like a good product, but I don't know if it could expand to fill a potential WWF void.

I don't know, there would suddenly be a ton of talent out there, it would be a lot easier to get a new #1 fed up and running.  Maybe somebody like Turner, or Rupert Murdoch would pick up the pieces.

The WWF was already headed in that direction before Russo became booker.  Just look at the Pillman/Austin gun angle as an example.  That was pre-Russo.

What the hell is going on here? One week, you all are complaining because the NWO is being booked like pussies, the next week, you all complain because they beat up Austin. What do you want?

And as for all of these conspiracies, look at the facts....

-The WWF booking sucks period. No one is immune.

-HHH has been booked horribly since his return. Putting him against Jericho was a HUGE mistake. Jericho's heel turn is a failure. He'd been put over every top star, sans HHH, and he still has no forward momentum. Worse yet, HHH was a heel when he left, there was no logical reason for him to be a face when he returned. Yet, here he is. No buildup, no backstory, no nothing. So the fans really have no reason to cheer the guy, yet they do. He dumps Steph, he gets a little more heat. He's not blowing anyone away with this run. Besides, the fans don't want to see him fight Jericho at Mania. They wanted HHH vs. Austin. So, it just goes to show you that the "Head Booker's" boyfriend can get screwed into bad booking and storylines just like anyone else.

-The NWO is weak. They are basically being treated like an average heel stable. A little beatdown to establish them, then WHAM! Austin saves the day. They beat Austin down for revenge, then later Austin makes them his bitches. The NWO is getting no special privelages. No "Clique Power Trip" no nothing. If that's the case, then why did Hogan take a Stinkface at a house show? Why did Hall and Nash get beat down and repeatedly stunnered by Austin at a house show? Why are they even working house shows? Why was the NWO humiliated on the THIRD show they were featured in? They have no power. That's it, the end. No conspiracies. Next.

-X-Pac has good crowd heat and will probably be the only NWO member to be able to draw heel heat without having to ram the #1 babyface's ambulance with a tractor trailer. He's also said to be in great shape.

-The marks like HBK. That's all that matters. I know you all don't like hearing this but, SMARKS DON'T MATTER!!!!!! People will stop saying it if you fianlly grasp that fact and live with it. Perhaps you all would be taking more seriously as a community if the bitching was less and you all could make up your fucking minds. One week NWO is too weak, the next the NWO is too strong. One week they are helping the company, the next week they are hurting it.

In my opinion, the main problem with the WWF is their history.  They have a history of clowns, roosters, freaks, psychos, power hungry wrestlers, supernatural losers, hosses, idiot bookers, idiot writers, markish fanbase, lack of "REAL" wrestling, too exposed business, and meaningless titles.

IMO, the WWF needs to use one of Russo's ideas, don't throw stuff at me yet.  They should vacate all the titles, eliminate some, and hold a tourney with all the "past" champions to determine the new champions.  These new champions will be the FIRST champions too, the past should only be a fading memory.

I would also scratch the Hardcore title and give Rhino(spelled "RHINO") the ECW title and call it the "Extreme" title.  It won't be a WWF title either, it will be unsantioned.  It will have it's own ref too, "The Extreme Referee" Bill Alfonso.  Anyways...on to the santioned titles.

Here are my picks for the champions.

WWF World Champion: Chris Jericho

WWF Television Champion: Lance Storm

WWF Tag Team Champions: Latino Heat(Eddie Guerrero and Chavo Guerrero Jr.)

I think the champions should rotate through both leagues when the split happens.

Problem.  The WWF doesn't own the rights to the title.  They would have to create their own.

Actually, when ECW folded, Rhino took the ECW World and Television belts and put them in a safe.  The belts belong to Rhino.  Since ECW is gone they could call it the "Extreme" title and talk about it being the former ECW title.

I would assune that WWF spells Rhyno, Chyna, and other names with a "Y" because of copyright reasons, just like Tazz instead of Taz.

If they could use the initials ECW and Ryno still has the belt at his house (which he has said in interviews) then why wouldn't they be able to use it?  Plus the "Extreme" title would be treated as a joke just like the hardcore belt.

I like the idea of a TV title with 10 min. time limit matches on TV.

I would keep the IC title, but go back to the old design.

Champs rotating through both leauges is also a good idea.  They could have 2 feuds at once, this would show just how hard it is to be and stay champ, and after tehy get over exposed by being on both shows they can drop the belt and go back to just 1 show.

How would that "Extreme" Title be used? If it's like the hardcore matches, then that's a bad idea.

The "Extreme" title will not be like the Hardcore.  First, it would not have the stupid 24/7 rule.  Second, all matches would be refereed by Bill Alfonzo, because he is the only one crazy enough to get between two Extreme wrestlers.  Third, pinfalls must be in the ring.  Fourth, there is no DQ.

Finally, there MUST be a winner.  This guarantes the fans will be satisfied, just like in ECW.

Actually, I'm one to back that Vince should let the nWo actually be the damn nWo instead of dumbing it down. You paid for the nWo, not Tom and Jerry and Mickey Mouse. I just think it's funny Triple H is going to be going agains the nWo most likely when it should be Austin or Rock as champion. Trips aint over as the top face, but that's just me. He is also rusty. Having rusty face vs. rusty heel is what ou

Steph has ruined her boyfriend's push because she actually has a bigger ego than he does.

I agree X-Pac does get great heel heat which is why it makes sense to put him in the nWo. Not too mention he is one of the earlier members. I also like HBK as evident in other posts. I'm just tired of these "come backs" since 1998.

As for the history of the wwf I think it IS a major problem. That's why I wrote that piece about Vince sticking with actual old school rules and not changing to a cartoon carny after 1989. The tv title. AAHHH! I hate that title. It sounds so bush league imo. Something like Cable 10 wrestling champion *lol*.
