Guest Jack Tunney Report post Posted December 23, 2002 Since the beggining of the RR these are the guys who've lasted the longest.... 88-never saw it 89-mr. perfect 90-ted dibiase 91-rick martel/greg valentine 92-ric flair 93-bob backlund(lasted an hour in 93,only to be dumped by kevin nash in 10 seconds in 1994. ha ha) 94-I dunno....Deisel maybe,or Michaels. 95-davey boy and shawn michaels 96-HHH 97-Steve Austin 98-The Rock 99-Ummmm......Austin and McMahon I guess. If you wanna count that.I never bothered watching this one though. 00-err....test and the big boss man I guess. 01-Kane 02-Nobody.Logically,it shouldve been Angle, but they booked him to enter at #26 for some reason. So who should it be this year? Not Lesnar,he's probably gonna win so he'll come in at 25 or something. It should be a heel though. Not much of a point to this thread,I'm just a big RR mark.It makes me feel all manly and puts hair on my chest.
Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted December 23, 2002 I think that if a Smackdown person wins (which I think will happen with Brock), that a Raw wrestler (say RVD or Jericho) should be the iron man. If a Raw person wins, then vice versa.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted December 23, 2002 Bam Bam Bigelow lasted a while in the 94 rumble and that was after wrestling Tatanka earlier in the night. Bob Holly lasted a while in the 96 Rumble. Austin lasted the longest in the 2002 RR.
Guest y2jailbait Report post Posted December 23, 2002 It was all Martel in the 91' rumble. Even the commentator's spoke on that one. Besides, Valentine basically punched/kicked his way around the ring, Martel on the other hand just was on the brink of elimination seemingly at every turn. Guest Frankie Williams Report post Posted December 23, 2002 Bret Hart lasted the longest in 88. He was in there for about 20 minutes or so. That year there was only 20 participants.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted December 23, 2002 How was HHH the ironman in 96? Shawn came in at no. 1.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted December 23, 2002 AoO- you got your RRs mixed up. 95- HBK came in at #1. 96- HHH came in at #
Guest Midnight Express83 Report post Posted December 23, 2002 Updated list to help people out 88-Bret Hart 89-mr. perfect 90-ted dibiase 91-rick martel 92-ric flair 93-bob backlund 94-Deisel 95-Shawn michaels 96-HHH 97-Steve Austin 98-The Rock 99-McMahon since he was number 2 and won it. 00-test 01-Kane 02-Austin BTW: Rumble winner for the most part has always been the person entering at Numbers 18, 24, 27. 30 never wins it. 4 is usually a mid carder who will be the first to get the big move on. Another Rumble fact: Every year, there is atleast one dumbass to press someone over the head, walk to the ropes, then slam the guy into the ring and not to the floor. I coin it the Davey Boy Spot since he seem to do it the most.
Guest Ravenbomb Report post Posted December 23, 2002 remember in the '97 royal rumble when one of the import lucha guys eliminated someone, but then did a plancha or something and eliminated himself? Good times...
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted December 23, 2002 Bam Bam lasted much longer then Diesel though. Diesel just threw the most people over in
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted December 23, 2002 remember in the '97 royal rumble when one of the import lucha guys eliminated someone, but then did a plancha or something and eliminated himself? Good times... I'm still trying to forget the crappy 6 man tag team match that they had.
Guest kingkamala Report post Posted December 23, 2002 The luchador who eliminated himself was the villian of Have A Nice Day Mil Mascaras
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Report post Posted December 24, 2002 I remember Savage accidentally eliminating himself in 92 to go after Jake The Snake. The only problem with that was that wasn't when he was supposed to be eliminated, so Monsoon and Heenan gave some quick spiel about how he couldn't eliminate himself. I still laugh at that when I watch it.
Guest The Metal Maniac Report post Posted December 24, 2002 You know what the sad part is? I think there have been more rumble victories for guys with numbers under 5 then with numbers over 25. #1, 2 and 3 have all won - I think 25 and 27 did, and that's all I know...
Guest Midnight Express83 Report post Posted December 24, 2002 only one 1, one 2, and one 3 have won it. 27 alone has won it as many times.
Guest humanoid92 Report post Posted December 24, 2002 I say they give a midcarder like Christian the iron-man run. Go Christian.
Guest The Metal Maniac Report post Posted December 24, 2002 Really? What years? (I can't recall all the winners off the top of my head) Still, the fact that the three lowest numbers have all won, while 30 hasn't, is still kinda sad.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted December 24, 2002 #27 has won- 1989 1993 1994 2001

Guest The Metal Maniac Report post Posted December 24, 2002 They change those rules every single year. Some years you can eliminate yourself (Drew Carey did it) and some you can't (Like Jake.) Or there's the years where you can be eliminated by someone who's already eliminated (Like Taker/Maven) or the ones where you can't (HBK/Vader). They really need to straighten these out. Guest papacita Report post Posted December 25, 2002 Did Maven ever go over the top last year?
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted December 25, 2002 He went over the top via Taker who was already eliminated. But he got a title shot against Y2J anyway
