Okay, the situation is this..

 

I'm growing up, and i read Green Lantern comics which show GL as a WHITE MAN, with a MASK who uses this ring to conjure up anything his mind desires.

 

We okay with that? Good.

 

I turn on Cartoon Network today and find the show Justice League is on. Being a huge GL fan, as well as Batman, i decide, what the hell, i'm gonna watch it.

 

Besides it being a wicked cartoon, i find that the Green Lantern has SOMEHOW either become a black man, or has fell asleep under a salarium for 60 years. Suddenly he's ditched the mask and is an African American.

 

Eh?

 

Anyone know what's goin' on?

I'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you started reading GL relatively recently, since John Stewart has a pretty extensive history in the DCU...
