Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted February 5, 2002 Report Posted February 5, 2002 This was mentioned on the Tag Team thread. What is your favourite old school WWF theme. I have to go with the Fabulous Rougeaus.
Guest Daredevil21 Posted February 5, 2002 Report Posted February 5, 2002 Sorry, but nothing can beat "Jive Soul Bro". That is the best theme of all time.
Guest Tony149 Posted February 5, 2002 Report Posted February 5, 2002 I can't pick just one, so I'll pick these six..... Fabulous Rougeaus, Ted Dibiase, Demolition, Hulk Hogan ("Real American" gives you chills after what happened on 9-11), Hart Foundation & of course, "The Dr. of style" Slick.
Guest ArkhamGlobe Posted February 5, 2002 Report Posted February 5, 2002 Damn it, with the Demos, the Rougeaus, the Mountie and Slick, how is one to pick? Ah, fuck it, I'll just pick the Rougeaus.
Guest Tony149 Posted February 5, 2002 Report Posted February 5, 2002 I can't belive I left out the Mountie in my first post. Man, I loved that theme. Does anybody know the words to the whole theme?
Guest Dark Lotus Posted February 5, 2002 Report Posted February 5, 2002 Here you go... I'm the Mountie! I'm handsome, I'm brave, I'm strong!/ I'm the Mountie! And I enforce the law!/ You can try to run, but you can never hide/ Cause the Mountie always gets his man! Once the RCMP sued the Whiff though, it became "I'm NOT the Mountie", which actually becomes a bit more of a slam to the RCMP, imo.
Guest Tony149 Posted February 5, 2002 Report Posted February 5, 2002 Thanks for the lyrics to The Mountie's theme. I still get a kick out of that.
Guest TUS_02 Posted February 5, 2002 Report Posted February 5, 2002 Money Money Money Money Money....
Guest Army Eye Posted February 5, 2002 Report Posted February 5, 2002 Jake also had some real cool music when he turned heel.
Guest Daredevil21 Posted February 5, 2002 Report Posted February 5, 2002 Jake also had some real cool music when he turned heel. Yes you are right, there. The trust me theme was a lot better IMO, than his orignal face theme.
Guest Tony149 Posted February 5, 2002 Report Posted February 5, 2002 The original Undertaker theme is pretty good, too. It was very creepy back then.
Guest areacode212 Posted February 6, 2002 Report Posted February 6, 2002 Jake had different music as a heel? I'll have to look for that one. I still liked his face music a lot. Something about it said "smooth, crafty bastard".
Guest Tony149 Posted February 6, 2002 Report Posted February 6, 2002 On the subject of Jake's face music...I remember on the Saturday Night's Main Event where Hogan "lost" the title to Andre due to the "twin ref's", a video package was shown of Hogan working out getting ready for the match. The funny thing was it was the same music Jake used as a face only it was slower and sounded like porno music.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted February 6, 2002 Report Posted February 6, 2002 Jake's heel theme was cool.
Guest Banky Posted February 6, 2002 Report Posted February 6, 2002 Do you trust me? D..D..Do you trust me? Can you trust me?
Guest theWCWRaider Posted February 7, 2002 Report Posted February 7, 2002 Well, if we're just talking WWF, I've got to go with: Demolition Dibiase Mounty Slick Hogan and Mr. Perfect's was cool I thought. Now, if we're adding in NWA and WCW themes...gotta include the Midnight Express.
Guest Tony149 Posted February 7, 2002 Report Posted February 7, 2002 Yeah, Mr. Perfect has some cool music. I agree about the Midnight Express having some great music in the NWA/WCW.
Guest Repo Man jr Posted February 8, 2002 Report Posted February 8, 2002 Come on!, nothing beats my Repo Theme music!!! Not even my *breaks kayfabe* older music.
Guest Tony149 Posted February 8, 2002 Report Posted February 8, 2002 I like Repo Man's music. Everytime I hear I get a kick out of it. His old theme is better. You know which one.
Guest ElLocoTas Posted February 9, 2002 Report Posted February 9, 2002 Even though I seem to be the only one thinking so - Honky Tonk's team kicked ass.
Guest super sayan jericho Posted February 9, 2002 Report Posted February 9, 2002 i'm going with the Demos theme, but honrable mention would go to the Young Stallions theme.
Guest Luke Argyle Posted February 11, 2002 Report Posted February 11, 2002 What about the Boss Man's old theme?! C'MON! "IF YOU EVER TAKE A TRIP DOWN TO COBB COUNTY GEORGIA!" That song was freaking great.
Guest Tony149 Posted February 11, 2002 Report Posted February 11, 2002 I agree, Bossman had some cool music. Although, I thought it was cool because it was bad.
Guest DEEP THOUGHT Posted February 11, 2002 Report Posted February 11, 2002 My vote was for the Fabulous Rougeau's theme. Such a catchy song...and the subtlely of the lyrics in the verse sung in French is brilliant. Which Mountie theme is the poll referring to? I've always preferred his first one (the instrumental). I just thought the song had a strong "Canadian" feel to it, and was better suited for the character that his "I'm the Mountie!" theme. Found it neat how they toned down the gimmick too; when the character debuted he had the letters "RCMP" and the coat of arms for the Canadian Mounties on his uniform, both of which were eventually phased out.
Guest Tony149 Posted February 11, 2002 Report Posted February 11, 2002 I belive The Mountie theme in the poll is his "I'm the Mountie!" theme music.
Guest Shaved Bear Posted February 11, 2002 Report Posted February 11, 2002 yea the old school big boss man theme that was great and remember the rockers theme, it just screamed...80s
Guest Tony149 Posted February 11, 2002 Report Posted February 11, 2002 Did anybody else think The Rockers & Warrior's music sounded a little a like? They did too me.
Guest dreamer420 Posted February 12, 2002 Report Posted February 12, 2002 I have always been a fan of The Mountie's as well. He ruled.
Guest Some Guy Posted February 12, 2002 Report Posted February 12, 2002 The "Common Man" song for Dusty Rhodes kicked ass and it's hard to beat "Honka, Honka, Honky Love" for Honky and Valentine.
Guest Tony149 Posted February 12, 2002 Report Posted February 12, 2002 I gotta admit, I liked Dusty's WWF music. WCW made a lame rip-off for Dusty in early 2001.
