Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted March 7, 2002 Remember when Stephanie told Triple H she didn't want 50% of what he's already made, she wants 50% of everything he CONTINUES to make? Well, what if after Wrestlemania, she's entitled to 50% of the Undisputed Championship? It's a soap opera storyline for sure, but it's a start as far as to split the belts for the draft. Have Stephanie lay claim to one of the belts, and give it back to Jericho, or hold a tournament, whatever. Stephanie and Vince will run the RAW show, while Ric Flair takes Triple H as his Champion for the Smackdown show. Then do the draft, as planned, with the rest of the roster. That leaves me with my next question... Who do you guys think will be in each respective federation? Pick only the 25-30 guys you think will actually have TV time/focus on them. No need to pick Crash Holly when you know he'll just wind up on a second string show anyways (unless you think he'll actually get a push) My picks are: RAW :(Vince) Chris Jericho The Rock Hulk Hogan Kevin Nash Scott Hall Steve Austin William Regal Undertaker Chuck Billy Bradshaw Faarooq Edge Kanyon Test Scotty 2 Hotty Albert Jeff Hardy Matt Hardy Lita Mike Awesome The Hurricane Mighty Molly Goldust Raven Tommy Dreamer Jazz Most of the "Sports Entertainment Gimmicks" will be withheld by McMahon, since RAW will be his show, and he'll "exploit" the gimmicks to the highest degree. SMACKDOWN (Flair): Triple H Chris Benoit Rob Van Dam Kurt Angle Maven Buh Buh Ray Dudley D-Von Dudley Diamond Dallas Page Christian Lance Storm Tajiri Jamie Knoble Shannon Moore Ekmo Kimo (The Island Boyz) Kane Justin Credible Chavo Guerrero Jr. Hugh Morrus Mr. Perfect Rikishi Booker T. Stacy Torrie Trish Tazz Spike Dudley Randy Orton Mike Sanders I'd say that RAW would gear more towards the Sports Entertainment Crowd, with more angles than anything, more brawling rather than in ring action (this is why I put Dreamer and Undertaker there), and less emphasis on cruiserweights. Smackdown will be the "old school" show, without sensationalistic angles, and the renewed cruiserweight division gets its start. I also put The Hardy Boyz in one fed (RAW) and the Dudleys in another (Smackdown) so that we FINALLY, will NEVER have to see that match again! These are just my opinions on the split. I'm at work, I don't get out for an hour, and I'm bored, so it helps to pass the time. Hope to see some of your ideas up soon.
Guest the BURNHAM Report post Posted March 7, 2002 Wow letme just say that this seems really plausible and possible. Therefore Vince won't do it. I think that Jericho wins by cheating blatantly, Flair gets pissed. And somehow strips him of a belt. That's the only way the WWF does things today, if it makes sense it won't happen and vice versa. Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 8, 2002 Perhaps one of the best ideas for the Split and I like the rosters for each of the companies.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted March 8, 2002 Good idea. The Rock should go to Smackdown. Since it's "his" show.
Guest Mystery Eskimo Report post Posted March 8, 2002 Yeah, good idea. I would maybe have Jericho on Smackdown though, I think he should be kept with Benoit.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted March 8, 2002 I've read that Jericho will go to Flair's WWF (Smackdown) when the split happens.
Guest converge241 Report post Posted March 8, 2002 [quoteWell, what if after Wrestlemania, she's entitled to 50% of the Undisputed Championship? ] wow! heres the box [] here's malibu thinking outside of it: Zack Malibu []. I could see that happening. i think its plausible with all the soap opera elements the whole Steph-HHH story has had. Her and Daddy create a new belt out of it. Then Flair has the other half and Linda orders them apart or somehting like that. Who i think will end up where (some at least) Vince -RAW Flair - Smackdown Hall HHH Nash Rock Hogan Jericho Austin Benoit Show RVD Test Kane Booker Lance Rikishi DDP Goldust Maven Edge Christian Perfect David Flair X-Pac Kidman Tajiri Tazz Regal Kanyon Taker Raven
Guest Zack Malibu Report post Posted March 18, 2002 Here it is, the original post that I did for the split. Feel free to add your proposed rosters to it, those of you who have also agreed on this scenario for the split.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted March 18, 2002 I hope they do a draft live on Raw. It would be pretty interesting to see how that would be taken care of by the writers.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted March 18, 2002 I could see the WWF doing the draft on Excess, as somewhat of a test to see how ratings would do with WWF TV that matters.
Guest WWF4Life Report post Posted March 18, 2002 However the split happens, a televised draft is essential, just so there's a sense of importance to an already pivotal event. It was strange that Vince didn't show up at 'Mania. It would have made more sense for Vince to go nuts during the Flair-Taker match, making the 'board of directors' reconsider their stance on Flair. That could've led to Linda saying that the only way the WWF can move forward is for Flair and Vince to separate. I have to admit though, I'm pretty excited about this roster split, it'll definitely liven things up.
Guest dreamer420 Report post Posted March 18, 2002 I think the televised draft would be terrific. The WWF can't just release a list of talent and what company they are with without showing a draft.
Guest notJames Report post Posted March 18, 2002 Does HHH actually own the belt(s)?The championship is more like a figureheadship (is that even a word?) which symbolizes your spot in the company. Technically, the Fed owns the belts. HHH just uses it to keep his pants up So if he were to leave tomorrow and never wrestle again (a pipe dream in the minds of many), it's not like the Fed would be without a championship. Hence, HHH doesn't really own anything that Steph could lay claim to. I'm reminded of the time DiBiase tried to buy the belt off of Andre, which led to the tourney at WM IV. He wasn't allowed to do it. Of course, this is the WWF, where common sense rarely rears its ugly head. So your scenario could happen. $0.

I mean, the NFL and NBA drafts may be interesting, and you may root for your fave team or a local college player---but the program ITSELF is quite dull. I don't see how the WWF could make a draft entertaining. Maybe have the guys have matches with the winners going to where they want to go and losers having to go to the other division. -=Mike ...Who actually loves the split idea. Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted March 18, 2002 If the WWF holds a draft will they hire Mel Kiper, Jr.

Guest Brian Report post Posted March 21, 2002 **Partial Spoiler** I think they're better off having Steph get pinned by Jericho. That way she's off TV, Jericho wins, and HHH gets to bitch like #### about it. I expect HHH in Vince's and Jericho in Flair's, so then HHH turns to Vince, blaming Jericho for his daughter being off TV, and Vince's strips Jericho of 50% of the title. Flair should hold a US title tournament too.
Guest notJames Report post Posted March 21, 2002 With the added stipulation that Steph can get pinned during the match, she'll probably book it so they spend the entire match trying to pin her. JR: Jericho goes for the cover on Stephanie... Triple H breaks it... Lawler: Puppies!!! JR: ... now Triple H tries a cover, and Jericho breaks it... Lawler: Puppies!!! JR: ... King, they don't seem to be doing anything except taking turns covering Stephanie... and she's smiling... Lawler: Puppies!!! JR: ... I wouldn't put it past her, and I'm sure Jericho and HHH wouldn't mind bouncing around on the Billion Dollar Trampoline for a while...
