The Hossilization of SD!

Smackdown used to be a great show. The SD!6 were having great matches, and the weekly cruiser match was alsmost always good. Matt Hardy was building a great character, and various other things were going well. Then it started. Big Show was traded to Smackdown for no acceptable reason, and then the floodgates opened. Albert was promoted to upper midcard and immediately destroyed it. Bill DeMott is squashing cruisers and sucking alot. Bull Buchanan is on my TV. The Hosses have ruined Smackdown. My question is, why?

Why would The WWF try to ruin it's bright spot? I have a theory. Someone, and I honestly don't have a clue who that could be, noticed the huge difference in quality between the shows, and got concerned. Maybe they one show being heads and tales better than the other was not in the plans, so they needed to blance the two shows. It was decided not to fix Raw, for wHHatever reason they had, so they felt that SD! should be brought down to raw's level. And thus, Bill DeMott is pushed as a Cruiser killer. Big Show is in the main events. Albert fucked Matt hardy over. Bull Buchanan is on my TV. Damn the WWF. Damn them to hell.

It does seem funny that Smackdown has suddenly been sent down the crapper.

You forgot to mention Undertaker as Hoss 1, AS.

You think Vince is lining up the hosses for Austin to mow through?

hey, if all you're going to do is complain, why don't you just stop watching it all together? I mean, sure I agree with you on some things, but every fucking post I read coming from you is a complaint. You complain about Angle being a "pussy loser" when you're becoming nothing but a "whiny bitch" I'm not trying to flame bait or anything, but Jesus Christ man!

Everyone has already complained about this...I don't see how another thread about it will contribute much.

However, it is more than the hosses. Flawed writing in general. The improbable Angle joining Heyman bit. The Torrie/Dawn/Al angle. Rikishi still wrestling on SD when he belongs on Raw. Brock's push to the moon, when he still lacks character. Big Show as champ and Albert's pushed, Cruisers continued to be treated like crap.

It's just one of many problems.

Aside from No selling the Crippler Anklelock, Taker did nothing too offensive. SD!'s height was with Taker in the mains.

Because I believe that they still have it in them to do something right.

You saw Raw, right? It's obvious that JR is at fault. Bahgawd he's using his stroke to shove the hosses ahead!!

Isn't it funny all this started happening when Steph took over production from Heyman on Smackdown

Don't waste your time with all that. It's best to just accept all his bitching and move on to either discussing his bitching or ignoring it.

Bitching about his bitching will drive you to an early grave

When did this happen?

And Taker's run had plenty of less-than-awesome segments. The angle about how he had supposedly "cheated on his pregnant wife" that never went anywhere for one.

I just can't help but wonder how thick the rose-colored glasses are. Am I the only one who remembers the Billy and Chuck wedding? The Steph/Bischoff kiss? Somehow, through the power of Gods, people have convinced themselves that Smackdown! was doing everything right, and I don't think that's even close to the truth.

I think Steph took over for Heyman like a month ago. Another thing to remember is that Vince loves pushing the big men when business is down. Why? I don't know, because there hasn't been a really successful big man since the 80's. Both Austin and Rock are pretty average sized guys and they are his most popular stars ever.

Who reported this? Heyman went on Off the Record a few weeks ago and talked about how he writes for the show.

Vince does have a pention for big men, but at the end of the day, Heyman writes the shows. Vince can say no to any idea he wants, but Paul is the one coming up with the ideas.

Steph took over the production side of things... filming backstage skits, vignettes etc... Heyman is still writing

Don't think I didn't see that subtle remark!

You may be trying to act all innocent, but I saw through that and you're trying to pin the problems of SmackDown on Hulk Hogan, aren't you? :bonk:

It's all about "Vince's vision" though, however I'll admit that Paul's been eating up a hell of a lot of airtime. Heyman's one of the few writers I know of that I don't really hate. However, he fucks up and makes lots of mistakes too.

I'm just shocked AS is bitching about the Cruisers getting buried.

It wasn't more than ~4-5 months ago that AS was proclaiming his hate of the Cruisers.

You've come a long way, kid.

How can AS complain about cruisers? Every comment about Rey was greeted by EH...i remember that.

And Smackdown has Angle vs. Benoit on the PPV, and probably some title defense for Los Guerreros, so im not going to complain too much here.

Right. Heyman wrote the Storyline for Matt Hardy, which then Vince said No to and gave the Storyline to Albert.

Anyone who watched ECW knows how weird a Heyman Storyline can get. He loves to change things, make a ton of swerves and confuse the Hell out of everyone. WcW did this alot also, and Russo is king of this, but unlike them, Heyman's storylines usually all come together at the end of the feud to make some sense.

The whole Heyman/Angle/Lesnar/Big Show/Angle-Horsemen thing you just have to wait out and see what happens.

"Right. Heyman wrote the Storyline for Matt Hardy, which then Vince said No to and gave the Storyline to Albert."

Nah, the story goes something like this: Heyman writes the story for Benoit, "Smackdown creative" (whatever that means) vouches in favor of Matt, and then Johny Ace (who supposedly has more clout than the rest of Smackdown's creative department *combined*) goes above all their heads to Vince and suggests Albert.

I don't know about you, but I've been fed this kind of thing from the Usual Suspects enough times to know that it's BS, and considering where Meltzer, Keller, and Scherrer get most of their info on these issues, it's probably coming straight from Heyman the Super Genius himself. Instead of making excuses for the guy, it'd be nice to see some constructive critisism as to what he can do to make a possitive change in the product from the supposed Wrestling Journalists.

Heyman's pitfalls in ECW centered more around his inability to book long-term, or create logical storlyines from week to week. To cover up for that he would overbook everything into oblivion. See the pregnancy angle turned lesbian angle for a look at how good the guy is at developing possitive pay-offs for his angles.

"The whole Heyman/Angle/Lesnar/Big Show/Angle-Horsemen thing you just have to wait out and see what happens."

*rolls eyes*

I'm still waiting for this damn Angle turn to make sense. You think Heyman is going to explain why he didn't just have Show lay down for Angle, if they were both working for him? You think he's going to ask what the point of lifting Brock's suspension was?

Not holding my breath, and neither should you.

I would rather see Bling Bling Buchanan than Albert/Show/DeMott

What is this Bling Bling. Shane McMahon's music, and now this, WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

Well, Rey and Chavo are just funr to watch, I can't help it.

Do I get a medal?

However, I still think that giving these guys a division based on their weight class is counterproductive and stupid.

Hosses are a theological necessity.

If there are people who can be thrown around, there must be people to throw them.

"Bling bling" is urban slang for diamonds. It's apparently fashion de rigeur to appear in public wearing as much ice as possible. What this has to do with mediocre wrestlers I have no idea.

BTW, if you want to truly "reprazent" and not be caught "frontin'", I suggest you check out da Bling King's dope site for all your hip hop jewelry needs. Yo.

I don't understand the confusion over the Paul-Show-Angle thing. It breaks down pretty easily to this...

Angle - Uses and abuses Brock into assuring that he gets to beat Show, while at the same time signing with Heymen to make sure Brock doesn't get a shot.

Paul - Didn't care who won at the last PPV since he had both guys secretly under contract anyway. Gets to play with Brock more and expand his sphere of power.

Show - Big dumb guy is getting used by his manager as a road block.

Yes, but why did Heyman and especially Angle decide that they randomly hated Brock enough to come up with this confusing plot?

Seperately, good. Together, we get the piece of shit King of the Ring match.

Heyman's hatred: Brock refused to listen to Heyman time and time again. Heyman got pissed off at this, so he starts to screw Lesnar.

Angle: Lesnar is probably the only guy that actually has amature wrestling titles under his belt in WWF/E besides Angle. Angle doesn't like that...so auto-hate for Lesnar by Angle.
