Yeah, like the topic says, I received an X-Box for Christmas, and I'm looking for recommendations on what games I should try for it. Any?

BTW, which game would you guys reccommend: Splinter Cell or Ghost Recon? I'm eventually going to get both, but which should I get first?

I don't have a X-Box, but I heard that Splinter Cell rocks the house.

Yeah, i think the major difference is:

 

Splinter Cell: Single player stealth stuff

 

Ghost Recon: Team-based stealth stuff.

 

I dunno.

I enjoy both SC and GR, it depends on what you like as they aren't the same game at all. SC is more for micro-strategy while GR is for marco-strategy. SC is more visually stunning but GR is more visceral (it actually FEELS like you are in a war - the sound is THAT good).

 

GR can also be played on-line, so if you have xbox live then you should prob. get this one (i dont have XbL so I can't totally recommend it) but if you plan on getting XbL in the future, then I suppose get SC right now.

 

Oddworld is a fun game with some great animation and easy gameplay.

Get as many sports games as well, since they are the best when they do come out on the X-Box.

 

Outlaw Golf is also a game to check out as well

Get the 1967 Mustang and 2002 Mustang Bullitt in Sega GT 2002, that's all you'll ever need.

I can't stand people that ridicule others that own a certain system. If you don't like a system, keep your mouth shut. I currently have 15 Xbox games and love them all. And I don't even own Splinter Cell yet.

dead or alive 3 and metal gear subtance are the only games I like that are just made for x-box.

Pick up Hitman 2, Tony Hawk 4, and Dead to Rights. I enjoy them all.

 

I'd recommend JSRF but since you just bought the system you probably got it with the purchase.

I just got an XBox too. My mom had like 150 dollars in Toys R Us gift cards that she never got around to giving to her work friends kids for Christmas that she just gave me. I was going to buy some more PS2 or GC games...but I couldn't find any I wanted so I bought an XBox because I really want to play Fable when it comes out...next year.

 

Anyway...the first game I bought was Buffy the Vampire Slayer because I'm a mark and it was only 25 bucks.
